Rotten Mud Mountain

Qi Zai notes Rotten Mud Mountain is not far and plans to let Qi He handle a Ni clan there. Flying below the clouds, they see the tall black mountain and, on its east side toward the sun, a village already turned to ruins with rivers of blood and piled corpses. Qi Zai says the only beast tide proper to Rotten Mud Mountain is the mud monster beast tide, so the mixed wild beasts show a man-made disaster by a Gu Immortal. ^{ch. 1036}

Ni clan villages scattered over Southern Border are purposely preserved by Qi clan’s Gu Immortals. Qi Zai is in charge of Rotten Mud Mountain and checks it at intervals. He had subdued a desolate beast mud monster in a swamp of the mountain and left his will in it to protect Ni clan. When a mysterious Gu Immortal slaughters the village after breaking a bargain, that mud monster rushes to save them and is killed, after which the remaining clansmen die under the beast group. ^{ch. 1037}
