Ni Xiang

Qi Zai lists Qi Xiang, Ni Xiang, Bai Xiang, Xue Xiang, and Chi Xiang as the Heaven Surveying Five Xiangs, and says he is going to where the current generation Ni Xiang is. He places Ni Xiang’s descendants among several Southern Border branches and says Ni clan no longer has Gu Immortals. ^{ch. 1035}

Qi Zai explains that once someone in Ni clan creates an Immortal Gu in the body, that person is called the current generation Ni Xiang. The first such Immortal Gu is the information path Immortal Gu Yes or No, which answers only yes or no from heaven and earth and costs fifty years of lifespan per answer. ^{ch. 1036} At Rotten Mud Mountain the Ni clan leader is that current generation Ni Xiang; a mysterious Gu Immortal forces him to answer, and Qi Zai already knew the leader held the title. ^{ch. 1037} Fang Yuan also approaches the current generation Ni Xiang about Fixed Immortal Travel and other Immortal Gu; the answer is No, and after one use the old clan leader dies on the spot from the lifespan cost. ^{ch. 1039}

Fang Yuan later restates the Five Xiangs as Qi Xiang, Bai Xiang, Xue Xiang, Ni Xiang, and Chi Xiang, in qi path, ice path, blood path, earth path, and food path respectively, and says the gatehouse into their public grotto-heaven was created by all five with fused power. ^{ch. 1637}
