He sits in a tree watching Ni Jian fight a brown bear he chose as an opponent, then tosses muddy Gu down so the boy can trap the beast. He asks whether Ni Jian now sees muddy Gu’s advantages and confirms he wants the grandson to give up sword path for Ni clan’s earth path specialty. ch. 1034
Clan leader
Narration names him Ni Jian’s grandfather, current leader of Ni clan, and a rank five Gu Master. When alert bell Gu rings he grabs Ni Jian and runs to the village at rank five speed, then uses the clan’s investigative Gu formation, sees a beast tide a hundred li away, and orders layered defenses, heavenly fire Gu formation, medicine hall, and youth evacuation. ch. 1034
Death
Qi Zai learns that the Ni clan leader was the current generation Ni Xiang with yes or no Immortal Gu in his body.
