Muddy Gu

Outside Ni clan village, Ni Kun tosses this Gu to his grandson during a brown bear fight after sword qi Gu fails to hurt the bear beyond shaving fur. The grandson recognizes it at once and can use it even though the worm is not his, because Ni Kun lent it. ^{ch. 1034}

Effect

In the brown bear fight the grandson uses it three times. After the first, the bear’s feet are stuck; after the second, the bear is sunk to the waist; after the third, only the head remains exposed and the fight ends. He is pale and nearly out of primeval essence afterward. ^{ch. 1034}

Ni Kun asks whether he now sees the Gu’s advantages, saying that without it he could not have defeated the brown bear. ^{ch. 1034}

Path context

The grandson answers that Ni Kun staged the fight to push him off sword path toward the Ni clan specialty, earth path. Ni Kun confirms he wants that focus on earth path cultivation. ^{ch. 1034}
