Chainsaw Golden Centipede

The Chainsaw Golden Centipede is a rank three Gu with side rows of saw-like teeth, first named as the wild worm king of a centipede nest in the Flower Wine Monk inheritance.

While probing the Flower Wine Monk inheritance, Fang Yuan uses Earth Communication Ear Grass and hears a buzzing like a chainsaw from the centipede nest.^{ch. 129}

Appearance

It is around a metre long and as wide as two fists. It coils and slithers. On both sides of its body is a row of sharp saw-like teeth that move as it moves.^{ch. 129} Under firelight its exoskeleton gives off an eerie light, and the sawteeth at its sides are silver. As it moves closer, the sawteeth move like a slowed chainsaw. When it lunges it moves like a golden line.^{ch. 162}

Form

Fang Yuan judges that even White Jade Gu defense cannot endure its attack, and that a wild specimen will burrow and escape if something seems amiss.^{ch. 129}

Capture

At rank three he draws it out with leaked aura, seizes it when it coils around his waist, and uses Spring Autumn Cicada’s aura to force it to surrender, then refines away its wild consciousness in a few breaths. After that it coils around his arm under his will.^{ch. 162}

Combat use

He calls it out so it coils around his right arm, opens its mouth to swallow his fist and forearm, shrinks its body and feet into an exoskeleton with two rows of razors, and injects primeval essence so the razors spin. Its dark golden exoskeleton shows as it fights. He can will it to extend, detach, and burrow into the ground. The same fight names rank four Chainsaw Killer Centipede as one advancement path of rank three Chainsaw Golden Centipede, later used by Chainsaw Mad Demon.^{ch. 166}

Healing the razors

Living Steel Gu is its healing Gu worm. After about an hour of black smoky steel essence, the razors grow back shiny and most injuries on its dark gold exoskeleton heal. Without that Gu, the razors would take at least half a year to fully grow back. It uses little primeval essence and has strong attack power, but is weak at healing itself.^{ch. 177}

Borrowed use

Fang Yuan lends Sky Canopy Gu and Chainsaw Golden Centipede to Bai Ning Bing. She copies his method, waves it like a greatsword, and from time to time wills it to lengthen or shorten while waving it around like a whip.^{ch. 202}
