The Carapace Gu is a rank two Gu that enhances a Gu Master's back defense.
Fang Yuan takes Carapace Gu from the corpse of a Grand Crocodile king after Bai Ning Bing kills that hundred beast king on the riverbank stretch toward Bai Gu Mountain. He refines it at once and keeps it as his own back defense while Sky Canopy Gu is lent to Bai Ning Bing. ch. 204 ch. 205 Cited chapters name no Gu Master owner other than Fang Yuan; the worm comes from that beast king corpse.
Appearance
It is palm-size, with a turtle shell whose protruding surface is covered in crocodile scales. After refinement it flies to the back and forms a large scale insignia like a tattoo, from shoulder to waist, covering the whole back. ch. 204

Crocodile skin armor and bee chase
Activation uses primeval essence poured into the Gu at the back. The skin there becomes uneven, slightly bulging, and turns into tough, thick crocodile skin armor. Ordinary frenzy needle bees cannot penetrate that armor. ch. 208
During the frenzy needle bee chase, the crocodile skin armor on his back stops ordinary bees, and Bai Ning Bing draws most of the bee Gu. The Carapace Gu’s small defensive area is usually useless, but that fight helped him a lot and left him with barely any injuries. ch. 208 ch. 209
Destruction after the Bai Gu pursuit
Carapace Gu is among the Gu destroyed in the pursuit, together with earth hearing ear grass, Chainsaw Golden Centipede, iron thistles, stealth scales Gu, and the footless bird. Fang Yuan notes that with iron thistles and carapace Gu gone, he still has canopy Gu and Flying bone shield. ch. 228
