Frenzy Needle Bee Gu

On the road toward Bai Gu Mountain, Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing scout a house-sized beehive holding a large frenzy needle bee group. Fang Yuan already knows that once those bees become Gu, their piercing can defeat Sky Canopy Gu. ^{ch. 207}

Form and rank

The swarm packs a beehive as huge as a house; it is a terrifying insect group. ^{ch. 207} The bees are small, fly at high speed, and have needles tough as steel. Swarm pressure is compared to a needle rain attack. The bees are resilient enough that, if they fall into a lake that is not too deep, they resurface. ^{ch. 208}

Some bees in the group have become Gu, rank three frenzy needle bee Gu, large in numbers and penetrating. ^{ch. 208 ch. 209} Cited chapters do not give a Chinese name, and they do not describe a Gu form separate from those bees in the swarm.

Effect

Once a frenzy needle bee becomes a Gu, it can penetrate all things: even Bai Ning Bing’s Sky Canopy Gu protection would be pierced by those rank three frenzy needles. ^{ch. 207} Rank three frenzy needle bee Gu pierces Sky Canopy Gu, and Bai Ning Bing’s back is pierced and bleeds under the chase. ^{ch. 208}

Ordinary frenzy needle bees are weaker. Fang Yuan’s Carapace Gu crocodile skin armor stops ordinary bees, while the few bee Gu go after Bai Ning Bing. ^{ch. 208} The rank three piercing swarm counters Sky Canopy Gu, and Ice Muscles Gu as a second defense layer is what keeps Bai Ning Bing alive. ^{ch. 209}

Hive and materials

Frenzy needle bees do not create honey. Their hives are a Gu refinement material and food humans can eat directly. Destroyed hive fragments smell of sesame, look dark yellow, and taste like fragrant biscuits with light sweetness. The most delicious piece sits at the center of the hive. ^{ch. 208}

Cited chapters do not state a feeding method for Frenzy Needle Bee Gu itself, separate from that edible hive material.

Chase near Bai Gu Mountain

After the Xuan Yuan Divine Pheasant ruins the nest, Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing take hive pieces to eat. The returning swarm transfers its fury onto them and chases without pause. Bai Ning Bing takes most of the attacks with Sky Canopy Gu; Fang Yuan’s Carapace Gu covers his back. They escape by diving into a lake that washes the hive smell off their bodies. The bees keep diving and resurfacing in shallows, but lose the scent trail. ^{ch. 208}

After that chase, Bai Ning Bing’s back is full of fingertip-sized holes; a rank three demonic Gu Master proves a greater threat than the frenzy needle bee itself. ^{ch. 209}

No cited chapter shows a Gu Master refining or owning Frenzy Needle Bee Gu. The swarm on the Bai Gu Mountain road is a wild insect group.
