White Bone Inheritance

Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing reach a bone hall whose vat holds milk spring liquid packed with Bone Spear Gu and fewer Spiral Bone Spear Gu. Bone Spear Gu fills the same foundational role for this inheritance that Moonlight Gu holds for Gu Yue clan, and after Bai clan finds the site many of its Gu Masters equip it as a clan hallmark. Spiral Bone Spear Gu is the evolution of Bone Spear Gu, with spiral markings and higher attack power and penetrative force. ^{ch. 222}

A second hall offers three rank three Gu on white bone pillars, Ribcage Shield Gu, Flying Bone Shield Gu, and Arm Bone Wings Gu, under the carved line that the Bai Gu inheritance is left for future descendants and that the inheritor may choose only one. Fang Yuan takes Flying Bone Shield Gu and leaves the other two. This is a righteous faction inheritance that tests the inheritor’s self-control; taking all three Gu out of greed lowers later rewards. ^{ch. 222}

A third hall holds a sitting skeleton before a huge bone book. In Fang Yuan’s prior life the Bai clan twins named that book the Grey Bone Huge Book; it holds refinement recipes, Grey Bone Scholar’s life experiences, and why he set up the inheritance. The book ends by identifying the corpse as Grey Bone Scholar himself and inviting a kind inheritor to kowtow three times, then split the skull for his lifebound Gu. After the preferred tunnel opens, Fang Yuan smashes the corpse and takes a rank three Bone Spike Gu from the skull. ^{ch. 222} Bai clan elders who later open the same book treat the site as a righteous path inheritance. ^{ch. 223}

Deeper in, they reach Flesh Sac Secret Chamber. ^{ch. 223} Fang Yuan names the laughing flesh walls as the effect of Flesh Laughter Gu, used to store Gu worms like an Earth Treasury flower. A pocket-sized bone book from one mouth says the successor may inherit the true inheritance, names the founder’s two identities as Grey Bone Scholar and Flesh Bone Master, and invites a fated successor to knock teeth for hibernating Gu. Bai Ning Bing’s first success yields Flesh White Bones Gu, which Fang Yuan identifies as the famous rank three healing Gu Flesh-bone Gu. ^{ch. 224}

A later skull sculpture needs two people of one mind to open. Bai Sheng and Bai Hua trigger it when their hands touch the red gem pupils. Inside, a scroll states that Grey Bone Scholar lacked high aptitude and spent his life trying to invent a widely usable cultivation Gu; near death, while setting up the white bone mountain inheritance, he left the unfinished Bone Flesh Unity Gu concept, materials, and forge for a fated successor. Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing refine that Gu there with the twins forced into the final flesh step, and the twins die in the fire. ^{ch. 226}

After fleeing, Fang Yuan lists large stores of Bone Spear Gu and Spiral Bone Spear Gu, plus rank three Flying Bone Shield Gu, Jade Bone Gu, Iron Bone Gu, the same healing Flesh White Bones Gu already taken from Flesh Sac Secret Chamber under the haul name meat bone Gu, bone books of recipes, and Bone Flesh Unity Gu as the decisive prize. He ranks gains from this Bai Gu inheritance above the flower wine inheritance, because Grey Bone Scholar planned the site for a long time while the other was finished in haste, even though the flower wine monk was rank five and Grey Bone Scholar only rank four. He also notes he only walked the main path, with side branches and many unopened steel teeth locks in Flesh Sac Secret Chamber left to serve Bai clan. ^{ch. 228}

Because of Bai Gu mountain’s inheritance, Bai clan’s two young masters died in their hands and they took over half of the inheritance away; Bai clan’s arrest warrant is treated as the proof. ^{ch. 270}
