Spiral Bone Spear Gu

Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing find Spiral Bone Spear Gu in the milk-spring vat of the Bai Gu mountain white bone inheritance, mixed among a much larger number of rank one Bone Spear Gu. ^{ch. 222} Bai clan elders later recognize both kinds when the inheritance is disturbed. ^{ch. 223}

Appearance

It is similar to Bone Spear Gu: as large as a human finger and completely white, round at one end and sharp at the other, like a miniature spear, but with spiral markings on the spear surface. ^{ch. 222}

Form and rank

It looks like Bone Spear Gu (finger-sized, white, spear-shaped) but carries spiral markings on the spear surface. It is the rank two Gu inside the vat, the evolution of Bone Spear Gu with higher attack power and penetrative force. ^{ch. 222} Successfully refining Bone Spear Gu produces Spiral Bone Spear Gu. ^{ch. 262}

Effect

The spiral markings give it a spiral force, so its penetration is very strong compared with ordinary Bone Spear Gu. ^{ch. 222 ch. 262} Fang Yuan treats it as his first standard attack Gu from that inheritance, after Charred Thunder Potato Gu proves too situational on Bai Gu mountain. ^{ch. 222}

Combat use

Against Ou Fei, Fang Yuan flicks a spiral bone spear that pierces the dive defense and skewers the shoulder at the scapula, stopping the attack cold. ^{ch. 250} In the caravan fight that follows, Bai Ning Bing fires three spiral bone spears in a row; a spent defensive Gu stops two, and the third pierces Ou Yang Gong’s skull from behind. ^{ch. 251} Fang Yuan later kills Ding Hao with a thick spiral bone spear through the skull, leaving a spiral hole as the spear sits in the wound. ^{ch. 257}

On the Shang clan city stage against Wei Yang, Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing fire multiple spinning spears. Wei Yang takes three hits to test them, and judges that the Gu has spiral force and is good at penetrating defenses, though his light golden armor holds. ^{ch. 265} In the chase that follows, the spears restrict him and pierce flagstone when he vanishes, but as rank two Gu they are not enough alone to finish a rank three peak stage opponent. ^{ch. 266}

Feeding

Bone Spear Gu and Spiral Bone Spear Gu both feed on milk. In the inheritance they are kept in a vat fed by a milk spring, a specialty of Bai Gu mountain. ^{ch. 222}

Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing

Fang Yuan refines over twenty Spiral Bone Spear Gu into his aperture on the spot, while Bai Ning Bing takes one to refine later. ^{ch. 222} They still hold large numbers when they leave the inheritance. ^{ch. 228} In Shang clan city he bargains twenty of them to eight hundred primeval stones each at Tong Ou shop, as part of a forty thousand six hundred and twenty stone Gu package with bone spear and bone spike Gu. ^{ch. 262} After Shang Ya Zi blocks other buyers, Fang Yuan later sells the spiral bone spear Gu with those other white bone Gu to Shang Ya Zi under that original agreement for the same total. ^{ch. 268}
