Bone Spear Gu

Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing find Bone Spear Gu in the milk-spring vat of the white bone inheritance on Bai Gu mountain, filling most of the vat beside a smaller number of rank two Spiral Bone Spear Gu. ^{ch. 222} Bai clan elders later recognize both kinds among the destroyed Gu when they enter the first hall. ^{ch. 223}

Fang Yuan’s prior-life memory adds that after Bai clan found this inheritance, many of its Gu Masters equipped Bone Spear Gu, so it became a characteristic of Bai clan Gu Masters. ^{ch. 222} In Shang clan city, Tong Ou shop’s elderly has never seen Bone Spear Gu. The narration calls it a special lineage made by Grey Bone Scholar that had never entered the market. ^{ch. 261} While pricing the remaining stock Fang Yuan also notes that Bai clan has these Gu too, so selling them is not a unique leak. ^{ch. 262} No cited main-timeline chapter names a living Bai clan Gu Master who equips Bone Spear Gu after that hall scene.

Effect

When the Tong Ou elderly tries a lent Bone Spear Gu, he judges that although it is rank one and not easy to raise, its attack power is high and rather unique. ^{ch. 261} That shop trial is the clearest cited activation of the rank one form itself. Spiral Bone Spear Gu is the evolution of Bone Spear Gu, with higher attack power and penetrative force than the rank one form. ^{ch. 222} A later sale scene repeats that successfully refining Bone Spear Gu produces Spiral Bone Spear Gu. ^{ch. 262} Bai Ning Bing, already rank three, is disappointed the vat holds no rank three attack Gu and treats the rank one and rank two spears as unable to show a rank three Gu Master’s true power. ^{ch. 222}

Feeding

Bone Spear Gu and Spiral Bone Spear Gu both feed on milk. In the inheritance they are kept in a vat fed by a milk spring, a specialty of Bai Gu mountain. ^{ch. 222} Without enough milk spring on the road, many of Fang Yuan’s Bone Spear Gu starve; chapter 239 notes heavy losses, and chapter 242 says two-thirds are already dead despite his efforts to feed them. ^{ch. 239 ch. 242}

Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing

Fang Yuan refines over two hundred Bone Spear Gu into his aperture on the spot with the Spring Autumn Cicada’s aura, while Bai Ning Bing focuses first on a Spiral Bone Spear Gu. They destroy the leftover vat Gu rather than leave them for Bai clan. ^{ch. 222} They still hold large numbers when they leave the inheritance. ^{ch. 228} At upper stage rank one, storing hundreds of Bone Spear Gu overloads his aperture during a snow silver primeval essence transfer, so he moves all the Bone Spear Gu into Bai Ning Bing’s aperture before accepting that essence. ^{ch. 230} Those Bone Spear Gu and Spiral Bone Spear Gu still sit in Bai Ning Bing’s aperture at that time. ^{ch. 236}

Sale in Shang clan city

Fang Yuan takes almost two hundred Bone Spear Gu from Bai Gu mountain, but after starvation and earlier trading only fifty-six remain when he prices them at Tong Ou shop for three hundred twenty primeval stones each, with spiral bone spear Gu and bone spike Gu bringing the package to forty thousand six hundred and twenty. That Tong Ou sale fails, and he keeps the Gu. ^{ch. 262} Shang Ya Zi later buys that same Gu package at the original Tong Ou total of forty thousand six hundred and twenty primeval stones, and the recipe set he receives uses Bone Spear Gu as a base for many further recipes. ^{ch. 268}
