Mechanic Gu

Attack Gu are Gu worms whose role is to strike and harm. They sit with defense, healing, storage, recon, and movement among the six common classifications Fang Yuan tracks for a usable set.

With his experience, Fang Yuan treats six Gu worm attributes as the set that must cover him: attack, defense, healing, storage, recon, and movement. For attack in that accounting, Blood Moon Gu barely qualifies beside Sky Canopy Gu for defense. ch. 157

Six classifications

Among the six classifications he tracks for his own set, Blood Moon Gu and Sky Canopy Gu fill attack and defense beside Thunderwings for movement, tusita flower for storage, and Earth Communication Ear Grass for recon, with healing still missing. ch. 161

Offensive stock limits

Charred Thunder Potato Gu is an offensive Gu, but it cannot be moved, which greatly lowers its practical value. ch. 213

Not every fire Gu

Swallow fire Gu is not an attack Gu. Narration places it accurately as a storage Gu meant especially to store fire. ch. 457
