Storage Gu

Storage Gu are Gu worms whose role is to hold items, Gu, or other payloads. They are one of the six common Gu classifications beside attack, defense, movement, recon, and healing.

Before Fang Yuan leaves the village, he treats a satisfactory storage-type Gu worm as a hard requirement, because supplies underwrite food, Gu feed, and primeval stones for solo travel.^{ch. 157} Among the six classifications he tracks for his own set, tusita flower fills the storage slot beside attack, defense, movement, recon, and healing. Tusita flower is a rank three storage Gu able to store primeval stones and other things; among rank three storage Gu it is one of the better ones, with a ceiling around thirty thousand primeval stones when used for stones alone.^{ch. 161}

Common stock

Earth treasury flower is a storage Gu. Flower Wine Monk planted it deep in a cave to store several Gu worms.^{ch. 378} Storage Gu worms meant especially to store Gu worms are extremely common, with Earth Treasury Flower named as an example beside Airsac Gu, a rank three mortal storage Gu worm whose translucent belly can hold another Gu.^{ch. 701}

Battle misuse

Swallow fire Gu is not an offensive Gu but a storage Gu. Narration notes that using Gu relies on a Gu Master’s wits, and asks who can say storage Gu cannot be used for battle.^{ch. 510}
