He regrets that too many watchers in the alliance army keep him from slipping off to Dang Hun Mountain to heal it fully with guts Gu. He charges his night wolves, water wolves, wind wolves and turtleback wolves at the enemy line. The fused three greet him as Wolf King and throw up a defensive wall of steel pincers crabs, crystal drilling crabs and big qi crabs within a few breaths. ch. 511
Fang Yuan’s wolves, in what Wei Xin recognizes as the nine layered wave charge, nearly break that crab wall. The three souls share every thought at once, and E Xuan Ming answers the alarm with a crocodile group, six legs crocodiles, lava crocodiles, rock crocodiles and shadow plunder crocodiles, that restores the line to near indestructible. Fang Yuan shows no frustration at the stalemate and instead eases his own attack. He splits his attention to watch for shadow sword expert Bian Si Xuan, who has stayed hidden since the battle began, likely kept back by Hei Lou Lan’s presence at his side. ch. 511
A group of four-winged bladewing blood bats descends from above, inflicting heavy losses on the wolves and letting the crab-and-crocodile line push forward by about a hundred steps. Fang Yuan identifies the bats at once as Jiang Wan Shan’s, unsurprised. Knowing Dong Fang Yu Liang has no enslavement path masters of his own, he had already guessed the strongest three enslavement path Gu Masters on the enemy side would be the ones fielded against him. Ordinarily a mixed beast group hampers its own enslavement Gu Masters, but under the fused souls the crab-and-crocodile army moves as one, a mixed force shaped like an open steel fist that drives deep toward Hei tribe’s main tent, defeating the wolves in its path. ch. 511
Hei Lou Lan, feeling the pressure, hears Fang Yuan’s read on it: break the killer move itself and the whole mixed army scatters without a further fight. He chooses to end it himself, pours primeval essence into four Gu, gathers a black sphere, Dark Vortex, that swells to the size of a small hill, teleports it directly above Dong Fang Yu Liang’s tent, and hurls it down. Everyone inside is gripped by a dread so heavy they can barely move. The fused trio, needing at least two to three minutes to separate before they can act, are helpless to flee. ch. 511
Dong Fang Yu Liang meets it with a calm smile and presses his foot on the floating white cloud beneath the tent. It surges into Cloud Whirlpool, a killer move he spent three years perfecting specifically to counter Dark Vortex, swallowing Hei Lou Lan’s sphere whole. He declares Hei Lou Lan beaten again, just as he was years before. Hei Lou Lan, realizing too late that he has walked into a prepared trap, cannot tear the vortex free. ch. 511
Dong Fang Yu Liang then calls two names, Dong Po Kong and Bian Si Xuan. The shadow sword expert slips out from hiding in the ground’s own shadows. Dong Po Kong crosses the battlefield as a bolt of lightning that resolves into a man. Both arrive in an instant directly before the twin-headed rhino carrying Hei Lou Lan and Fang Yuan. ch. 511
