Dream Realm

A person’s dream realm is filled with their desires and emotions. Being infected by those emotions is a signal of sinking deeper. If one is careless, a grand Gu Immortal can lose himself inside a dream realm and die. Severe pain can force a wake from a surfaced dream realm; a hidden dream realm resists ordinary attack, while a piece that has surfaced can be disrupted by outside force. ^{ch. 725} A soul sucked into a dream realm may wander there unless the dream is broken, or transform into another dream realm. ^{ch. 726}

Ever since the first batch of mortals were born, almost nobody can avoid dreaming. Across ages, geniuses and even Immortal Venerables and Demon Venerables leave dream realms that gather into a huge hidden realm. Dream wings Immortal Gu lets its holder enter at will and resists influence from those realms. Moving through a qualified person’s dream can raise path realm sharply and yield true meaning: after Old Immortal Kong Jue’s dream, Feng Jin Huang reaches quasi-master refinement path and unknowingly obtains some of his refinement path true meaning because he was a refinement path supreme grandmaster. Dream realms are extremely complex; a venerable’s dream is treated as too dangerous to linger in. ^{ch. 730}

Without dream path Immortal Gu, emotion and memory pull the explorer deeper. Looking longer or investing emotion makes the dream more realistic and harder to leave. That snare is the dream realm’s entanglement. ^{ch. 770} Soul foundation still matters: a deep soul foundation lets an explorer endure more failures inside before the soul reaches its limit. ^{ch. 1247}

Inside Luo Po valley, Star Constellation Immortal Venerable’s dream-realm song returns to Fang Yuan’s mind and this time carries real information, pointing him to a Thieving Heaven true inheritance hidden nearby and telling him to reach it with open door Gu. ^{ch. 991} He comes to suspect the dream realm was left behind by Star Constellation Immortal Venerable herself as a deliberate prophecy: she was wisdom path’s greatest expert, her posthumous scheme against three Demon Venerables had kept Heavenly Court standing, and a wisdom path prophecy from such a figure would match the precedent set by Immortal Yi Yan’s Prophecy of Three Venerables. ^{ch. 993} Working through the verses, he reads the opening line as pointing to that same valley and to Feng Jiu Ge, and the next, its sunken sword and unceasing river, as pointing to the long-dead sword expert Bo Qing and to Falling Heavenly River. ^{ch. 993} The song sounds again while he searches that river, this time naming Bo Qing and Mo Yao’s remnant soul directly, and following it lets him draw Immortal Gu out of the sleeping immortal zombie undetected. ^{ch. 994} Once the haul is in, he judges the prophecy has proven itself twice over, though its remaining lines, an exclamation and two verses on a soul carried into dreams and on heaven’s will outlasting change, still read as too unclear to interpret. ^{ch. 995}
