Great grandmaster is the fourth of the five main attainment levels from ordinary to supreme grandmaster. It marks understanding of a path close to the limits of what exists in the world.
Realm on a path climbs a fixed ladder from ordinary to supreme grandmaster. At great grandmaster attainment, it is easy to understand capabilities of other paths using one’s own path as a foundation, and methods become comprehensive in many aspects. Blazing Heaven Demoness is named as an extremely rare great grandmaster when she retrieves an immortal aperture with a fire path killer move learned from Immortal Kong Jue’s inheritance. ch. 944
Killer move freedom
At great grandmaster level, every killer move can be casually disassembled and interchanged at will, because understanding of the path is already close to the Dao. Old Ancestor Xue Hu’s ice and snow path is judged at about that height when he disassembles his signature battlefield killer move inside a Gu formation. ch. 1269
Limits of the world
Great grandmaster means understanding of a path is very close to complete, approaching the limits of the world and digging out the profundities that already exist for that path. Formation path great grandmasters can use natural dao marks in the world to set up formations, often needing only mortal Gu to form immortal Gu formations in suitable places. Great grandmaster often needs a thousand to several thousands of years, and a number of rank eight Gu Immortals hold this level. ch. 1502
