True meaning infusion is the same as taking in Reckless Savage Demon Venerable’s understanding toward cultivation. It directly increases foundation and can raise cultivation realm. Fang Yuan notes that slow, steady cultivation would need at least decades to reach the same stage without that rare opportunity. ^{ch. 693} After he finishes destroying the earthly calamity and taking in the infusion, his strength path stays grandmaster, transformation path rises to master, and flying rises from master to quasi-grandmaster. ^{ch. 689}

Dream realm exploration can also yield true meaning. After Feng Jin Huang moves through Old Immortal Kong Jue’s dream, Fairy Bai Qing states that she unknowingly obtained some of his refinement path true meaning, because he was a refinement path supreme grandmaster. ^{ch. 730} Dream realms contain true meaning; once a Gu Immortal successfully explores a dream realm and obtains it, attainment level rises directly. ^{ch. 1326}

Historical records say that when strength path and transformation path Gu Masters undergo tribulation in the icy plain, they receive an infusion of Reckless Savage’s true meaning and grow in attainment. That gift is for Gu Masters ascending to immortal; after one becomes an immortal, calamities and tribulations happen in the immortal aperture, and ordinary tribulation there does not give that infusion. Fang Yuan later uses immortal tribulation tempering aperture so that tribulation beasts in the icy plain can still yield the infusion. ^{ch. 1055}

The infusion is like the guidance of Reckless Savage Demon Venerable with nothing withheld. Other than dream realms, only something like that infusion raises attainment so easily. Dream realms themselves are manifestations of emotions, obsessions, and desires, the remains of countless wills: successful exploration extracts true meaning from those scattered memories. In essence, that too is still true meaning infusion. ^{ch. 1055} Too much of Reckless Savage’s true meaning can destroy consciousness, like a snake swallowing an elephant; Fang Yuan relies on wisdom path foundation and defensive wisdom path Immortal Gu to endure a huge intake. ^{ch. 1056}

It is not easy for a Gu Immortal to leave behind true meaning. Wisdom path and rule path have the greatest ease. Other paths must reach a certain level of mimicking those paths to leave true meaning behind, as with Long Hair Ancestor’s refinement path true meaning or Reckless Savage’s transformation path true meaning. No Gu Immortal can cultivate heaven path, so heaven path true meaning has never existed in that accounting. ^{ch. 2028}

Rule path and wisdom path Gu Immortals are more adept at extracting their own true meaning than other paths. When others take that true meaning, their corresponding attainment rises sharply, but the extractor’s attainment falls and the loss cannot be regained. That cost is why true meaning is so rare. Fairy Yu Xiu’s Endless Learning creates true meaning in the targets’ minds instead of expending the user’s true meaning; once created, it is absorbed and raises the relevant attainment, though the created true meaning still has limits set by the target’s aptitude, talent, comprehension, and personal experiences. ^{ch. 2163}
