Legend at the absolute ice battlefield in the northernmost part of Northern Plains says he fought strong enemies there, destroyed the place, and created an area of void. After the battle he turned into the immemorial desolate beast ice phoenix and breathed absolute profound ice to freeze and restore it. ^{ch. 683}

Fairy Li Shan says that as creator of that icy plain he imprinted the true meaning of strength path and transformation path in that land. Even after rank nine venerables perish, their main killer move is imprinted in heaven and earth as a kind of heavenly tribulation and earthly calamity. A strength path or transformation path Gu Master who ascends to immortal there may evoke that true meaning. ^{ch. 686}

During Fang Yuan’s first earthly calamity, Reckless Savage’s true meaning took over a large portion of it from heaven’s will, forming iron crown eagles, ruin bats, and other threats. A Heavenly Court Gu Immortal inside Embroidered Tower says that its needle move once struck Reckless Savage Demon Venerable during his rampage into Heavenly Court, and that he freed himself only by discarding three bloody skins. ^{ch. 1010}

Historical records state that he could transform into countless things and change dao marks at will, so a lightning wolf form could use lightning path killer moves and a swamp crab form could use earth path killer moves without other dao marks weakening them. He wears an extremely wide beast skin cape sewn from human skins. The cape suits a large physique. On an ordinary person a large portion would drag on the ground. His thighs are sturdy.
