Chapter 1085

Lang Ya land spirit’s chosen site is Tai Qiu, Fang Yuan’s true target all along, though he lets the land spirit arrive at it himself. Tai Qiu is one of the ten great fierce areas of Northern Plains. Giant grass has grown there into a primitive jungle sheltering desolate beasts, ancient desolate beasts, and hints of immemorial ones. Dong Fang Chang Fan once built his inheritance here, and Fang Yuan later fought an intense battle here too. The land spirit asks whether Fang Yuan knows the place. Fang Yuan admits some familiarity from the Dong Fang Chang Fan affair. ^{ch. 1085}

Land spirit proposes building a teleportation Gu formation at Tai Qiu. Fang Yuan argues against it with a show of loyalty: the place is a hornet’s nest where the slightest commotion can call up a beast tide, possibly even of immemorial desolate beasts. He recalls his own earlier battle here, when an immemorial ruin bat’s corpse held every beast at bay until tribulation stripped its aura and the beasts tore the corpse apart. A formation on the edge risks other forces sensing them, and one set deep inside risks trapping them if a battle turns. Even the safest spot risks a beast tide humans would notice, which is why super forces avoid Tai Qiu, and Lang Ya Sect has even more to lose. ^{ch. 1085}

Lang Ya land spirit laughs, agrees Fang Yuan is right, and hands him an information path Gu worm holding a detailed map of Tai Qiu. The land spirit’s main body made repeated trips there for materials to produce it. Fang Yuan feigns fresh surprise, though he already knew: this intelligence came from his transactions with Shadow Sect, and the map is why his Earth Trench proposal lured the land spirit toward Tai Qiu. The land spirit notes one huge flaw. The map is old, and Tai Qiu will have changed since it was made. ^{ch. 1085}

Since Fang Yuan already knows the place, is human, and holds Change Form Immortal Gu, the land spirit sends him there with the map. He is told to inspect Tai Qiu’s terrain, improve the map, and set up the basic form of a teleportation Gu formation if a suitable spot appears. Three marked locations, corpses of immemorial desolate beasts, are his priority, and the land spirit warns him to move in secret and never reveal the sect. Fang Yuan agrees and prepares to leave at once. ^{ch. 1085}

Little preparation is needed, since Lang Ya blessed land’s foundation runs deep and Fang Yuan is at ease leaving Luo Po Valley, Dang Hun Mountain, and Wisdom Gu behind. Even the Shadow Sect spy, Sixth Hair, changes nothing, since Shadow Sect can barely look after itself and would not dare invade. Heavenly Court is little more threat: it attacked Lang Ya blessed land repeatedly during the five regions chaotic war, but Feng Jiu Ge was killed before it could be conquered, and the regional walls still stand. Fang Yuan decides to carry nearly all his Immortal Gu. He brings his immortal zombie body too, since his sovereign aperture has room for everything. That zombie body is a problem on its own, and Spring Autumn Cicada inside it is worse, sealed shut and starving slowly toward destruction. It still carries heaven’s will, a fact the transaction revealed to Fang Yuan along with much other precious information about heaven’s will. ^{ch. 1085}

Fang Yuan expects obstruction on this trip too, carrying Spring Autumn Cicada and snow monsters full of heaven’s will. He now understands heaven’s will is not omnipotent, which has cut the threat it poses down immensely. Of the creatures his first earthly calamity produced, heaven’s will formed only the snow monsters, and though Reckless Savage’s true meaning weakened them, they will not stop until they destroy him. Carrying them still marks him out to heaven’s will’s perception once he steps outside. He decides simply to deal with whatever it sends. ^{ch. 1085}

Bright light flashes over dragon elephant plain, and Gu Yue Fang Yuan appears there out of thin air. He activates defensive and investigative Gu worms, many kinds at once. Scanning outward, he confirms it is temporarily safe. Lang Ya blessed land keeps several teleportation Gu formations outside itself, one at Feng Bo Cliff, and here Fang Yuan learns the location of a second. Unwilling to linger, he shoots upward, surveys the plain’s terrain, then hides and flies on. ^{ch. 1085}
