Lang Ya Land Spirit

He serves high grade cloud smoke tea and begs for Fang Yuan’s human skin Gu recipe, collapsing from sagely pressure into tears and pleas when refused. Fang Yuan withholds that recipe for later and instead writes later age recipes; the land spirit exchanges connecting heaven Gu and divine sense Gu, and grows interested in stargate Gu. He follows rigid exchange rules: a recipe only buys Gu already in the blessed land, and he will not buy starlight firefly Gu from treasure yellow heaven to complete a deal. ^{ch. 462}

He refuses to trade Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus, which produces the immortal essence that lets him defend calamities and tribulations and refine Gu. As Thieving Heaven’s inheritor, Fang Yuan has three chances to request Gu refinement: Immortal Gu success or failure counts as one chance, and mortal Gu refinement is guaranteed. ^{ch. 463} Fang Yuan asks him to refine stargate Gu and leave the remaining two chances for later. The land spirit teleports Gui Wang’s captured group to help after confining their rank five Gu in the cloud buildings. ^{ch. 464}

When Fang Yuan returns to claim a refinement chance, the land spirit agrees to refine second aperture Gu and lets Fang Yuan watch. He teleports Fang Yuan to Earth grade Room C Gu refinement hall, summons thousands of hairy men as children to prepare half done products, then finishes the Immortal Gu himself with smooth control. ^{ch. 486} He refuses to take Fang Yuan as a disciple, hands over second aperture Gu, and in further bargaining trades while firmly refusing to sell any hairy men, calling them his children. ^{ch. 487} Little Hu Immortal and Fang Yuan also know him in treasure yellow heaven under the divine sense name Lang Ya Old Immortal when he buys refinement materials for that work. ^{ch. 485}

While urging a stargate collaboration, Fang Yuan reminds him that Lang Ya blessed land has already suffered three waves of attacks, each stronger than the last, so its location has been discovered and is being observed. Narration adds that those three waves disrupted the land’s peaceful environment and created an enormous sense of danger in the land spirit. ^{ch. 666}

Lang Ya land spirit sends Fang Yuan an emergency request for reinforcements against invaders in the twelve wave cloud confusion formation, including Qin Bai Sheng. He offers the rank six Immortal Gu recipe for all out effort Gu as reward, distributes cloud building guard posts, and shows a warmer attitude than in recent strained dealings. ^{ch. 872}

Under battle pressure he screams, bursts with force, and turns from an old human man into a muscular hairy man with thick brown hair covering his body, bloodshot eyes, and exposed fangs. He states that Long Hair Ancestor’s main body was a hairy man, that two equally matched obsessions combined into one land spirit, and that the form Fang Yuan knew was only the obsession over space escape Immortal Gu. His condition for a new master is that a hairy man make hairy men the rulers of the world; Fang Yuan, as a human, cannot qualify. ^{ch. 879}

After the assault, he tells Fang Yuan he has established Lang Ya Sect on a Central Continent model, with himself as first supreme elder and the hairy man Gu Immortals as the other supreme elders. He means to train them for battle, send them on missions, force wars among the three sea continents to raise kings, and each year take elite hairy men onto the cloud soil continent as the sect’s foundation, while also choosing a rank five peak stage hairy man Gu Master as sect leader. Fang Yuan pays two thousand immortal essence stones and borrows a set of Immortal Gu used to relocate blessed lands. ^{ch. 900}

Lang Ya land spirit’s condition for helping now has turned harsh: he wants an immortal material from the immemorial nine heavens, rare even in treasure yellow heaven. His excessive demands have already cooled his relationship with Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 972}

When refining an Immortal Gu under the three-refinement agreement, Lang Ya land spirit may fail, but the materials must come from his own pockets. As long as Fang Yuan leaves his final free refinement unused, he may enter Lang Ya blessed land at will. ^{ch. 975}

After Qin Bai Sheng’s force retreats from Lang Ya blessed land, the land spirit in his second personality relocates plans, reforms the blessed land’s social system, creates Lang Ya Sect, and invites Fang Yuan to be an external supreme elder. Fang Yuan agrees. For battle remuneration he seeks a future reinforcement pledge from the land spirit rather than the all out effort Gu recipe, and receives a dangerous sect mission with contribution points that can exchange for Immortal Gu recipes once enough points are earned. ^{ch. 980}

Fang Yuan tells Lang Ya land spirit that obtaining and contributing divine concealment, a Thieving Heaven true inheritance, would be worth more than the two rank seven Immortal Gu already offered, and the land spirit answers that he will also throw in countless Immortal Gu recipes, immortal killer moves and secrets for it. As Fang Yuan walks out he mutters aloud that if he can get divine concealment there is nothing to worry about, and that even if he lets Fang Yuan become the second supreme elder the hairy man Gu Immortals will listen only to him, then realizes he has said his thoughts out loud again and covers his mouth, before Fang Yuan calls back without turning around that he heard every word. ^{ch. 992}

Fang Yuan had already told him long ago, as Lang Ya Sect’s external supreme elder, so when Little Hu Immortal contacts him, Lang Ya land spirit quickly dispatches a group of rank six hairy man Gu Immortals, who use a stargate to reach Hu Immortal blessed land and display the ancient battle formation Heavenly Giant Solor, turning into a giant that carries Dang Hun Mountain into one of their immortal apertures before they return to Lang Ya blessed land through the stargate. The hairy man Gu Immortals are stunned when Little Hu Immortal brings them to wisdom Gu and they transmit the information back, and after his own shock the land spirit uses his methods to convince wisdom Gu to enter one of their immortal apertures and go back with them to Lang Ya blessed land. ^{ch. 1028}

When Fang Yuan asks about Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s vital Immortal Gu, the land spirit says he had cooperated with Giant Sun Immortal Venerable while he himself was alive, which is how he knows Giant Sun refined Fortune Rivalling Heaven in his later years and Dog Shit Luck in his early years. ^{ch. 1029}

By this point the land spirit’s focus is on expanding the hairy men race and trampling over humans rather than on refining Gu, but when Fang Yuan is willing to use his sect contribution points to ask him to reverse refine Fang Yuan’s rank seven sword path Immortal Gu, he agrees. Fang Yuan then uses his final refinement chance, since the agreement between Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable and Long Hair Ancestor still has to be fulfilled even though the land spirit has changed, and when the land spirit asks which Immortal Gu, he answers Fixed Immortal Travel. ^{ch. 1038}

Facing a trade for Dang Hun Mountain, Luo Po Valley, and wisdom Gu, he offers Lang Ya Sect’s three major foundations: the refinement path true inheritance of his main body, Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s self luck true inheritance, and Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s theft path true inheritance, payments his main body took for refining Gu for those two venerables. Fang Yuan’s thoughts distinguish the white haired land spirit, formed from the space escape Gu obsession and focused on refining Gu, from this black hair land spirit, who wants hairy men as the dominant race. The land spirit also explains immortal tribulation tempering aperture as a refinement path killer move from that true inheritance, used to influence aperture calamities and tribulations. ^{ch. 1051}

Wary of leaking information through further requests, Fang Yuan reserves some information from Lang Ya land spirit and conceals the biggest secret of his sovereign immortal aperture. ^{ch. 1058}

Watching Fang Yuan test wisdom Gu, Lang Ya land spirit offers a method that is not quite a method: feeding it lifespan Gu continuously until it might acknowledge him instead, and admits his motive outright, blaming it on land spirits being unable to lie. ^{ch. 1073}

With a huge space, countless inhabitants, and a long history, his absolute control over the blessed land lets him collect every lifespan Gu that appears there, so his accumulation of them keeps increasing. Ordinary Gu Immortals need lifespan Gu, and he does not. ^{ch. 1074}

Lang Ya land spirit has issued sect missions to raise the hairy man Gu Immortals’ battle strength, but he himself is not suited to run them and Fang Yuan is the only suitable candidate. Holding the ideology of hairy men rulership, he smiles happily and praises change form Immortal Gu when Fang Yuan uses it to appear before him as a hairy man Gu Immortal, and his opinion of Fang Yuan rises. ^{ch. 1081}

Lang Ya land spirit refuses Fang Yuan’s suggestion of Earth Trench as too crowded and complicated to meddle in, then adopts the suggestion itself by choosing one of the ten great fierce areas instead. ^{ch. 1084}

When Fang Yuan proposes that the hairy men attempt the falling star hound mission first and that he step in only if they fail, Lang Ya land spirit agrees and, at Fang Yuan’s request, announces the arrangement to the sect. ^{ch. 1134}

Lang Ya Sect and Lang Ya land spirit are no longer as hard to deal with as before: Fang Yuan needs only sect contribution points to borrow Lang Ya Sect’s strength for Gu refinement. Fang Yuan hands over some of Purple Mountain True Monarch’s inheritances, which raises his sect contribution points sharply, and exchanges them for the chance of having Lang Ya land spirit personally refine Immortal Gu for him. At Fang Yuan’s request the land spirit uses the human isolation style rather than the hairy man heaven and earth style. ^{ch. 1385}

Bursting out of the earth fire in a refinement hall, coughing, Lang Ya land spirit says he has failed again, and complains that his own race’s nature refinement method would have succeeded already if Fang Yuan were not insisting on the human isolation style. The hairy man heaven and earth style he is best at would never refine Fang Yuan’s Gu, because it attracts heaven’s will and even heavenly tribulations or earthly calamities, and only the human isolation method has a chance; Lang Ya land spirit does not know this, does not excel at the human isolation style himself, and as a hairy man supremacist scoffs at it. ^{ch. 1396}
