Third Aperture Gu

At Lang Ya blessed land, Fang Yuan asks whether using another Second Aperture Gu would give him a third aperture. Lang Ya land spirit refuses that idea and names Third Aperture Gu as a different Gu, telling him to refine its recipe instead. ^{ch. 487}

Recipe status

Second Aperture Gu is not Third Aperture Gu, and forming a third aperture requires refining a Third Aperture Gu recipe. Fang Yuan treats that answer as confirmation of what he had already deduced from knowing Second Aperture Gu’s recipe. ^{ch. 487}

After Second Aperture Gu is used on him, Lang Ya land spirit repeats that a Third Aperture Gu is impossible from that path: Fang Yuan would have to deduce and infer a whole new Third Aperture Gu recipe. ^{ch. 490}
