Chapter 490

Lang Ya land spirit allows that sharing the Eighty-Eighth True Yang Building’s information is not impossible. His obsession is tied to space escape Gu and the Great Dream Immortal Venerable, and Giant Sun Immortal Venerable has since passed away; this land spirit is not the Long Hair Ancestor himself, but a separate living entity. Still, he is puzzled how Fang Yuan could know of the building’s secret at all, since only Giant Sun Immortal Venerable witnessed its refining. Fang Yuan lies, claiming the knowledge came from calculations under his inheritance from Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable and from his own attainments in wisdom path. When Fang Yuan tries to put off using the second aperture Gu until he leaves the blessed land, the land spirit refuses to trust him and threatens to make the Gu self destruct on the spot, insisting he use it right there under his watch. Fang Yuan protests he lacks the immortal essence at only rank five, so the land spirit personally pours essence into the Gu himself and hands it back. ^{ch. 490}

The Gu turns into a bean sized green light and flies into Fang Yuan’s body. His navel aperture rejects it, so it settles instead at the center of his chest. It explodes like thunder, and his second aperture forms. Lang Ya land spirit tells him the second aperture brings great benefit now and even more once he becomes a Gu Immortal, but warns that a third aperture is impossible without deducing an entirely new recipe, a remark Fang Yuan reads as an invitation to cooperate. ^{ch. 490}

After Fang Yuan departs, Lang Ya land spirit is embarrassed at having his hint noticed. He privately hopes a wisdom path partner could help him break through most of his dozens of unfinished recipes, perfecting as many as thirteen of them, though a remaining seven would still be out of reach for just the two of them. Back at Hu Immortal blessed land, Fang Yuan finds wolf and fox groups coexisting peacefully in the west, kept from serious conflict by the pink rabbits multiplying among the iron shell flowers. In the east, star fragment grass planted under Fairy Yao Guang’s methods has spread from the center of the dark clouds to their edges. It feeds the starlight fireflies, and is fed by them in turn. Heavy use of stargate Gu, though, is consuming the fireflies faster than they reproduce. Around the lakes he created to quench Dang Hun Mountain’s fire, water wolves feed on blue jade crucian carp and sometimes come ashore for earth skin pigs.
