Long Hair Ancestor

Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable bet and won refinement help from him, then asked for Space Escape Gu to enter the space door. The two spent twenty-one years and produced the Gu, yet it could not enter the space door. Research with Giant Sun Immortal Venerable also failed, and space escape Gu became the only failure of Long Hair Ancestor’s life. Embarrassed, he promised nine further refinements with materials supplied; Thieving Heaven used six for Immortal Gu and left three chances for an inheritor under a secret code. At death, Immortal Yi Yan spent fifty years of life to deduce that Great Dream Immortal Venerable would solve the space escape problem. Long Hair Ancestor died and turned into a land spirit with the obsession to see Great Dream Immortal Venerable; solving space escape Gu would grant that person the whole Lang Ya blessed land. ^{ch. 461}

While alive he loved collecting and researching recipes, and he was called the number one immortal of the refinement path of all times. ^{ch. 462} After Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable went missing for hundreds of years, Long Hair Ancestor refined a rank six Heavenly Essence Treasure Imperial Lotus and later advanced it to rank eight; that Gu remained in Lang Ya blessed land after his obsession merged with heavenly power to form the land spirit. He also used beast enslavement Gu to subdue desolate beasts, including ancient desolate beasts buried under the twelve cloud buildings. As a land spirit his refinement ability is reduced beside his living self, though he still retains much of that refinement talent when refining for Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 463 ch. 486} Looking back, the narration credits his refinement path attainment with exceeding that of both Giant Sun Immortal Venerable and Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable. ^{ch. 1028}

The first try at refining stargate Gu by the former Long Hair Ancestor turned land spirit, aided by five captive immortals, fails; the land spirit has inherited Long Hair Ancestor’s arrogance and grows harsh when refinement fails. ^{ch. 464} Fang Yuan later judges that Lang Ya blessed land, as Long Hair Ancestor’s old home, holds deep foundations and many trump cards, enough that a second attack wave cannot take it easily. ^{ch. 485}

Refinement path has produced only three supreme grandmasters in its whole history, and Long Hair Ancestor is one of them. ^{ch. 598}

Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord states that Long Hair Ancestor was not a human but a hairy man, and that this barred entry to Heavenly Court no matter his refinement path attainment. Hearing that, other Gu Immortals treat the fact as a secret they had not known, and the narration links the name long hair to that hairy man identity. After death he held two obsessions: the refinement path obsession tied to space escape Immortal Gu and Great Dream Immortal Venerable, and a species obsession formed because hairy men were suppressed by humans. ^{ch. 879}

Long Hair Ancestor himself did not have much capability to personally gather rank eight immortal materials, and agreeing to refine Gu for Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable and Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was partly a way to borrow those two rank nine venerables’ strength to gather such materials. ^{ch. 975}

Long Hair Ancestor and Immortal Yi Yan were publicly known to be bosom friends in history, and the inkmen and hairy men from Lang Ya blessed land and Inkman City always had close relations because of it. On that basis the hairy men vouch for the inkmen, and the allied snowman and rockman tribes choose to believe them and agree to bring Inkman City into the four races alliance. ^{ch. 1146}

The refinement path true meaning has the appearance of Long Hair Ancestor sitting cross-legged. Its whole body is shining and crystal-clear. It has no physical body and looks purely made from diamonds. ^{ch. 1560}
