Those able to attain quasi-supreme grandmaster are scarce, with few produced even in thousands of years. Above them, supreme grandmasters are rarer still: refinement path has only three across history. ^{ch. 1326}

The reason the step is “quasi” is that supreme grandmaster requires surpassing the foundation of the whole world, creating something out of nothing, and achieving a new innovation. Completely inheriting a predecessor’s true meaning can raise attainment to quasi-supreme grandmaster without going further to surpass the world’s foundation in that path.
