A mutated human race with natural Gu refinement talent, met as refinement rivals inside King Xin Inheritance.

Appearance

Inside King Xin Inheritance, Fang Yuan meets one trial opponent, a buff figure similar to ordinary humans, with two hands and two legs. Reddish brown hair grows from the chest, limbs, face, and buttocks. The eyes are bronze bell-like and large. Hair covers this figure, even the eyelids. ch. 356

King Xin Inheritance trials

Inside King Xin Inheritance on San Cha mountain, Fang Yuan meets a hairy man. This type has extremely low intelligence. The figure speaks in boorish, sporadic bursts. ch. 356

Losing means being torn to shreds and eaten. Each round hands both sides the same Gu and materials. ch. 356

Difficulty rises every ten rounds, and the hairy men grow smarter and stronger. In the early twenty or so rounds, Fang Yuan can flatter them and break their concentration so their refinement fails. From the thirtieth round they are huge and no longer fall for his flattery, so Fang Yuan must compete fairly. ch. 358

Legend of Ren Zu

The earliest record of hairy men is in Legends of Ren Zu. In that legend, Verdant Great Sun is captured by hairy men who mean to refine eternal Gu with him as catalyst. A voice in his mind names them hairy men, loved by the world. After vanity Gu turns into a poisonous wind that strikes their hearts, their eyes turn red, and Verdant Great Sun goads them into setting their own hair ablaze until they howl and he escapes the cauldron. ch. 357

Legend look

In The Legends of Ren Zu, hairy men are savage people with hair all over their bodies and dark blue eyes. Those dark blue eyes are crystal clear. ch. 357

Followers and hair

Feng Tian Yu reports that after the hundredth round and receiving King Xin Inheritance, he took in several hundred hairy men who stand quietly. These hairy men have the innate nature to follow people better at refining Gu than they are. ch. 389

Hall exterior defense

When Fang Yuan takes Feng Tian Yu into the bronze main hall, the hairy men who followed Feng Tian Yu stay outside to surround and protect the hall as the final line of defense. ch. 390

Hall entrance count

Outside observers later count several hundred hairy men at the hall entrance as that last line, inside the dog groups. ch. 393

Market composition

Hairy men sold on the market are usually male, with very few females or children sold, which also keeps other Gu Immortals from raising hairy men of their own. ch. 816

Ten variant human races

Hairy men are one of ten variant human races in the Gu world, alongside rockmen, snowmen, feathermen, mermen, inkmen, eggmen, beastmen, miniman, and mushroommen. Weighing which race to raise inside his newly obtained secluded domain City Well, Fang Yuan considers hairy men because he needs them to refine Gu for him. ch. 1489
