In the cauldron

It says it does not care about dying and only wants that guidance. When Verdant Great Sun rebukes it for ignoring their plight, it beams and concludes that becoming popular means enduring the heat, then promises a favor in thanks. It bursts with a soft bang and turns into a formless poisonous wind that strikes the hearts of all the hairy men. Their crystal clear dark blue eyes turn red. ^{ch. 357}

Poison of vanity

With the poison of vanity in their hearts shrouding their intelligence, Verdant Great Sun goads the hairy men by calling them ugly and then by comparing their hair to his blazing-fire hair. Spurred on, they set their own hair ablaze to chase that false beauty, howl under the pain, and fail to put the fire out in time. Verdant Great Sun escapes the cauldron. He later answers divine travel Gu that it was not his cleverness but vanity in people that made them stupid, enduring pain for false beauty and giving up the goals they should truly pursue. ^{ch. 357}
