Compared with other hairy man Gu Immortals in Lang Ya Sect, he is special: he cultivates refinement path and also enslavement path. In his early years a failed refinement produced a new Gu embryo; after immortal ascension he raised it to rank six, named it Immortal Slave, and used it to add enslavement path dao marks to his body. The previous Lang Ya land spirit encouraged that dual cultivation because those dao marks help when refining enslavement path Immortal Gu. The current Lang Ya land spirit favors him even more for battle strength, gives him beast enslavement Immortal Gu, and intends to nurture him as the sect’s enslavement path battle strength; among that land spirit’s favorites, Twelfth Hair is the most well-liked. ^{ch. 1080}

While sparring Fang Yuan he summons a chestnut yak with that Immortal Gu, struggles through failed activations, and only then forces the yak into a charge that Fang Yuan’s flying bear form defeats. ^{ch. 1080} During Lang Ya Sect’s attack on the falling star hound, Twelfth Hair leads the group: he activates the teleportation Gu formation to Tai Qiu, then uses three desolate beasts to hold the hound’s attention while the other hairy man Gu Immortals attack it from hiding. ^{ch. 1134} Among Lang Ya Sect’s hairy man Gu Immortals at Fire Plain grotto-heaven, rank six Twelfth Hair performs best by cultivating enslavement path secondarily and controlling multiple desolate beasts. ^{ch. 2107}
