Floating Refinement Hive is a mountain-sized beehive structure that Twelfth Hair calls an incomplete secluded domain of heaven and earth.
Appearance
The structure is large as a mountain but has the appearance and structure of a beehive, with many small spaces of various sizes inside. It has a narrow top and a broad bottom as its base, and it can float on the sea and resist huge waves with great stability. ch. 2299 From above it is enormous and towering. Inside, the structure is even more complex, with countless rooms and corridors that make it easy to get lost. Rooms hold living amenities that are extremely simple. ch. 2306
Twelfth Hair asks Gu Yue Fang Xiang to help with the arrangement of Floating Refinement Hive, and withholds news of Fang Xiang’s father until the task is done. Lian Ke Xin is surprised the hive has already been refined. Twelfth Hair answers that with the method their master created personally, the hairy man Gu Immortals only had to follow the instructions. He says the hive has already been created and Fang Xiang only needs to place it inside Refinement Sea. ch. 2299

He says it can not only accommodate countless refinement path Gu Masters, it can also hold ten refinement path Gu Immortals at most, and that with refinement path Gu Immortals stationed there, the hive can continuously produce Immortal Gu. Fang Xiang sets off to Refinement Sea with Lian Ke Xin. Refinement Sea sits at the center of Mini Eastern Sea. There is already more than one Floating Refinement Hive on it. Arranging the new hive needs a stable location that forms a connection with the surrounding hives. After the hives reach a certain number, an immortal formation activates and all the hives float with the waves. Refinement Sea helps the Refinement Hives to refine Gu, while the Refinement Hives replenish Refinement Sea after it is expended greatly. ch. 2299
Under Lian Ke Xin’s guidance, Fang Xiang starts the immortal formation. After three days they have only completed ten percent. Lian Ke Xin posts a mission and Ni Lao Shi, a newly advanced formation path Gu Immortal, accepts it. Three days later the arrangement of Refinement Hive is completed. ch. 2299
Hive inspection
Fang Yuan leaves Inkman City and comes to Mini Eastern Sea to inspect the Floating Refinement Hives. They are arranged appropriately. They were originally derived from the Fang Yuan stone nest, when Fang Yuan had the concept of a production line, created those stone nests, and arranged for many hairy man Gu Masters to refine Gu. Right now, each of the Floating Refinement Hives is an incomplete secluded domain of heaven and earth, far superior to that stone nest. There are already many hairy man Gu Masters in some of the hives. The first batch of Gu worms to refine are relic Gu and connecting heaven Gu. ch. 2300
Qualification tests
A hairy man Gu Master on a ship asks an elderly rank five hairy man whether he is also going to the refinement path sacred land to compete for the qualifications to enter Floating Refinement Hive. The elder, who lives in Mini Northern Plains, says he heard about Floating Refinement Hive and learned that it was forged by the orders of Supreme Lord Great Love Immortal Venerable, and that this refinement path sacred land might be his final hope to make a breakthrough. Other hairy man Gu Masters on the ship come from Mini Eastern Sea’s three hairy man continents. They say they are forbidden from entering during normal times, and that many Gu Immortals’ descendants can enter casually. ch. 2306
Several days later they arrive above a Floating Refinement Hive, enormous and towering. A voice instructs the correct path to enter. The structure is even more complex, with countless rooms and corridors that make it easy to get lost. Rooms have living amenities that are extremely simple. The initial test lasts three days: Gu Masters use their most proficient methods to process Gu materials or refine Gu worms, then are shifted to higher or lower floors. The hive does not restrict interaction between Gu Masters. The elderly Gu Master sees that hairy men are the most numerous, but there are also humans and some other variant human Gu Masters. Higher floors have better rooms and more exquisite food. ch. 2306
The hive never lacks tasks to process Gu materials, refine Gu worms, or create new Gu. Gu Masters who pass with good results can request guidance from the mysterious voice. After fourteen days comes a mid-term test: a top tier Gu material processed by many Gu Masters together, watching a lifelike real-time video while the real materials sit in a refinement path Gu formation in a secret area. The final test is to process immortal materials. Gu Immortals take the main lead; every Floating Refinement Hive has at least one refinement path Gu Immortal, and the Gu Masters do supplementary tasks. Passing grants qualifications to enter and leave Refinement Sea freely, with a time limit of fifty years. Most of Fang Yuan’s Floating Refinement Hives are packed with Gu Masters. The earlier stage does not have a high standard, so most can pass. As the population increases explosively, competition for that qualification would intensify. ch. 2306
Every Floating Refinement Hive can borrow the help of Refinement Sea and greatly raise the success rate of Gu refinement. Wasted Gu materials from refining in these refinement hives are melted by the Floating Refinement Hives and sent to Refinement Sea. If there was no replenishment from the Floating Refinement Hives, Refinement Sea’s water level would already have fallen by a lot, after Fang Yuan had been trying to advance an Immortal Gu for many days.
