Myriad Self Immortal Gu recipe

Short on one more piece for the recipe, Fang Yuan uses great thief ghost hand to pluck every fully grown spine from Sleeping Lady’s divine hedgehog while it sleeps, gathering the front-back divine obstruction needles the recipe still lacks before heading back to Lang Ya blessed land to refine the Gu. ^{ch. 1568}

With floating life fire bought cheaply off a Black Heaven Temple Gu Immortal in treasure yellow heaven, the recipe’s four main immortal materials, drinking blade wine, Edge Immortal Gu, front-back divine obstruction needles, and floating life fire, are all gathered. As a refinement path quasi-supreme grandmaster, Fang Yuan deduces the recipe himself rather than copying it from any remnant, and compresses its crucial steps, the ones decided purely by the collision of dao marks that no Gu Immortal can control, down to three; every other step is immortal material processing that skill alone can perfect. With Lang Ya Sect’s refining strength behind it, the recipe reaches a success rate of fifty percent, a figure the narration compares only to refinement path supreme grandmaster Long Hair Ancestor’s own Immortal Gu refinements. ^{ch. 1569}

The recipe Fang Yuan deduces spends no Immortal Gu at all, using only large amounts of immortal materials and mortal Gu instead, which raises the material and labor cost enough that Lang Ya Sect’s Long Hair refinement path formation is needed to carry it out. The refinement finishes in a single attempt, producing a rank seven Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1570}

In a different life, gathering the recipe’s materials again means outbidding Immortal Crane Sect’s Old Lord Can Yang for a fresh supply of floating life fire before handing the full set to Lang Ya land spirit. Studying the recipe Fang Yuan provides, Lang Ya land spirit calls it incredible and puts its success chance at forty percent. ^{ch. 1756}

Partway through this second refinement the process goes wrong, and Fang Yuan’s suggested fix, a formation built within the refining formation to purge the impurities, suppresses Lang Ya land spirit the moment he alone enters it to help. Trapped, Lang Ya land spirit works out that the recipe was flawed on purpose: of its eight main materials, only the first four are used to refine Myriad Self Immortal Gu at all, and the remaining four blood path materials exist solely to build the hidden formation that seals him. ^{ch. 1757}

Narration later credits Fang Yuan’s Myriad Self Immortal Gu recipe, derived from the killer move myriad self, as the standing example that an immortal killer move can be condensed into an Immortal Gu recipe, cited when Feng Jiu Ge’s own killer move destiny song becomes the seed of an early draft of a destiny Gu recipe. ^{ch. 1942}
