Floating life fire

The fire is transparent and burns silently without heat. When it burns a living being, past scenes of that being turn into images that constantly replay inside the fire, and the fire emits a multi-colored radiance and is no longer transparent. It needs special preservation methods. ^{ch. 1569}

Fang Yuan buys a carriage-sized lump from Zhang Ji in treasure yellow heaven and preserves it with a method from Lang Ya true inheritance rather than Spectral Soul’s true inheritance. Zhang Ji had obtained a large amount by chance and lacked those preservation methods. With drinking blade wine, edge Gu, and front-back divine obstruction needles already in hand, floating life fire completes the four main immortal materials for Myriad Self Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1569}

In the Long Hair refinement path formation, Lang Ya land spirit brings out prepared floating life fire. Large numbers of all-out effort Gu and grey smoke fuse inside the transparent fire; after half a month the fire, Gu, and smoke vanish and leave a drizzle trapped at the formation’s center. ^{ch. 1570}

The four main immortal materials for Myriad Self Immortal Gu are again named as drinking blade wine, edge Gu, front-back divine obstruction needle, and floating life fire. After taking the first two from autumn blade plain, Fang Yuan still needs the needles and the fire. ^{ch. 1752}

After killing Meng Tu and Sleeping Lady, Fang Yuan holds three of those main materials and lacks only floating life fire. From prior experience he expects Central Continent Gu Immortal Zhang Ji to list it in treasure yellow heaven after some time, so he plans to buy a portion rather than hunt it himself. ^{ch. 1753}

When the expected listing day comes, Zhang Ji does not appear in treasure yellow heaven. Black Heaven Temple’s Zhang Ji lost a competition to Immortal Crane Sect’s Old Lord Can Yang, so the floating life fire found on their joint exploration went to Old Lord Can Yang instead. Old Lord Can Yang is a fire path Gu Immortal, so the fire is useful to him, unlike Zhang Ji. ^{ch. 1756}

Old Lord Can Yang then sells the floating life fire publicly in treasure yellow heaven to raise Immortal Crane Sect’s reputation. It is a rare immortal material whose price is high but not absurd; Zhang Ji had not known its value and sold cheaply, while Old Lord Can Yang prices it correctly. Competing buyers push the price to an absurd height as part of Immortal Crane Sect’s publicity, yet Fang Yuan still buys because the fire is too important to his Myriad Self plan and other sources would cost more time. After obtaining it he passes the main materials to Lang Ya land spirit; in the Long Hair refinement, floating life fire and edge Gu are refined first, followed by battlefield blood sand, heart blood, and other main materials. ^{ch. 1756}
