Space Escape Gu is an Immortal Gu meant to let a Gu Master enter the Space Door. Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable and Long Hair Ancestor refine it, but it cannot enter the Space Door.
Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable wants to enter the space door and asks Long Hair Ancestor to refine Space Escape Gu for that purpose. After a bet that forces Long Hair Ancestor to accept the work, the two immortals cooperate for twenty-one years and refine it. Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable can activate the Gu, yet it cannot enter the Space Door no matter what he tries. ch. 461
Failure and prophecy
The failed entry is named the only failure in Long Hair Ancestor’s life. Later research with Giant Sun Immortal Venerable makes no progress. Immortal Yi Yan spends fifty years of his life to deduce the future and predicts that Great Dream Immortal Venerable will solve the Space Escape Gu problem after Spectral Soul Demon Venerable and Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable appear. ch. 461
Long Hair Ancestor dies and becomes the land spirit of Lang Ya blessed land with one obsession: to see Great Dream Immortal Venerable solve that problem, after which the blessed land would belong to her. Embarrassment over the failure also leads him to promise nine further Gu refinements for Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable, with materials supplied. ch. 461
Refinement cost
That failure wasted all materials Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable had collected for his entire life, including many extremely rare Gu materials obtained only by luck. ch. 486
