Crescent Lake

On the grassland the lake is tranquil and crystal-like, with bent pointed ends and a wider middle that give it the crescent shape. ^{ch. 459}

Appearance

On the grassland the lake is fifteen thousand li long and five thousand li wide. The two ends are bent and pointed while the middle is wide, giving a crescent moon shape. The water is tranquil and gives off a crystal-like sparkle. Aquatic plants are plentiful. Horseshoe trees surround the lake in a sparse woodland, and living beings there include three-horned rhinos, water wolves, and dragon-fish. ^{ch. 459} Grey-white stone pillars stand in stone forests beside the lake. ^{ch. 461}

Shore and waters

Ge tribe camps around those horseshoe trees; the lakeside holds many dangers, among them a larger water wolf group, a three-horned rhino group, a group of a thousand mutated beasts, and a worm group that can number in the hundreds of thousands or more. ^{ch. 461} Crescent lake has the most water wolves among the wolf kinds found there, with turtleback wolves, night wolves, and wind wolves also present. ^{ch. 485}

Tribes beside the lake

While small and mid-sized tribes leave for the heroes assembly, Ge tribe stays for a time among the aquatic plants and digests battle gains. ^{ch. 485} Later only Ge tribe remains at crescent lake; Fang Yuan then orders the tribe to onion valley before they go on to Yu Tian. ^{ch. 496}
