Breath Concealment Gu

Near Zi You mountain, a female dark leopard dies to black-feather pythons and the male dies afterward. Fang Yuan then loots the corpses and pulls two exquisite purple leaves from the male’s left ear and the female’s right ear. The text names them Breath Concealment Gu. ^{ch. 228 ch. 229}

It is an exquisite purple leaf, a rank three grass Gu. ^{ch. 229}

Form and early rank

Breath Concealment Gu is a rank three grass Gu; those finds are exquisite purple leaves. Almost all dark leopards there carry one in an ear, but the beasts move in pairs at least at thousand beast king level, so capturing them is hard, and that source is not yet widely known. In Fang Yuan’s previous life, a righteous path figure nicknamed Hunting King, Sun Gan, later hunted dark leopards for these Gu and sold them. ^{ch. 229}

Chapter 345, still before that refinement, says the Breath Concealment Gu used to hide cultivation is at rank three and could be advanced, though Fang Yuan sets that aside for a time. ^{ch. 345} No cited chapter names a rank four Breath Concealment Gu as a separate intermediate step between those statements and the later rank five product.

Effect

Gu Masters can use it to conceal their aura and cultivation level, a camouflage ability to some degree. ^{ch. 229} With the Gu in their ears, Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing hide their Gu Master aura so a village head cannot sense them, and they can disguise as mortals. ^{ch. 232} Fang Yuan’s Breath Concealment Gu sits on his left ear among his carried Gu. ^{ch. 273}

When he attacks, the concealment drops and his true aura shows. He first uses Breath Concealment Gu, then loses the rank three hide once he strikes. ^{ch. 280} The same overwrite recurs while he is rank three peak stage showing as middle stage until he attacks. ^{ch. 316}
