Tang Qing is a rank two middle stage Gu Master assigned as Fang Yuan's first Shang Clan City battle stage opponent on a grassland stage.
Watching battles requires primeval stones. Fang Yuan is a nobody. Tang Qing is slightly famous, but after his closed cultivation the little attention he received previously vanishes completely. When the bells ring he cups his fists, says his name is Tang Qing, and is taken aback when Fang Yuan bursts forward with jumping grass before greetings finish, calling the open strike a public sneak attack that ignores formalities. ch. 279

He is a young man, tall and skinny, with an ordinary appearance, and he wears a green shirt. ch. 279
Death on the stage
Fang Yuan pounces and fists his chest before he can react, caving the left side in and breaking ribs. Hatred rises after the shock. Fang Yuan steps between his legs while canopy Gu covers Fang Yuan in white armor, and Tang Qing feels a rank three aura after breath concealment Gu drops. He activates a defense Gu that wraps green wind around his body and softens the kick, then screams as Fang Yuan’s white-light fist smashes his face and kills him. ch. 280
Narration gives two reasons the kill succeeds: dull battle instincts after closed cultivation, and relaxation at Fang Yuan’s young look plus hidden Rank. Tang Qing dies before he can self-detonate his Gu worms. Fang Yuan takes four ordinary Gu, three rank two and one rank one, worth around two thousand primeval stones, plus only twenty to thirty primeval stones on the corpse after closed cultivation. ch. 280
Later Wei Yang warns that Tang Xiong is the brother of the Tang Qing Fang Yuan killed, and that Tang Xiong fell from fourth inner city to fifth for revenge. ch. 280
Tang brothers named
Spectators say the Tang brothers grew up relying on each other, that Tang Qing is dead, and that only Tang Xiong remains. Tang Xiong also calls Fang Yuan the killer of his little brother. ch. 281
