Beside crescent lake, Wang tribe leader hears that Yan Tribe has fallen to Ge Tribe and looks at Bei tribe’s envoy with shock. The envoy is Bei Cao Sheng, an old rank three enslavement path Gu Master with wrinkled face, grey hair, and sunken dark eyes. ch. 477

Wang tribe leader presses how a weaker Ge tribe could swallow Yan, and Bei Cao Sheng names Chang Shan Yin, then argues today’s Wolf King is past his prime and that Bei’s forest soldier corps, Zheng’s lightning spear battle formation, and Pei tribe leader Pei Yan Fei can answer him. Wang tribe leader stalls for up to three days while hosting Bei Cao Sheng. Wang tribe leader reads the battle report and says he underestimated the Wolf King. Wang De Dao treats Ge tribe’s surprise strike as breaking unspoken rules among the tribes. On the third hosting day, when Bei Cao Chuan comes to meet him, Wang tribe leader refuses the meeting and has Wang De Dao claim closed cultivation instead. ch. 484
