Tang Fang

Wang Jiang of Wang tribe smashes toward him to repay an old humiliation after Tang tribe took Luo Yu Feng. Tang Fang answers with pellet fire Gu, but Wang Jiang swallows the fire with rank four swallow fire Gu, then gains two rank three helpers. A Tang tribe elder holds them with slow steps Gu so Tang Fang can flee for reinforcements; when Tang Fang returns, he only recovers that elder’s corpse. Water Demon Hao Ji Liu later clears part of the field with waterfall Gu and targets Tang Fang’s group. Several elders hold the torrent and force Tang Fang to leave for his father while they die under Water Demon’s pressure. ^{ch. 510}

With Tang You still bedridden from earlier wounds, a Dong Fang messenger orders him to battle. Tang Fang protests that other leaders only pretend injury, but Tang You accepts to protect the tribe’s standing and goes out against Pan Ping. Tang Fang watches from the wall, eases when neither fighter seems earnest, then sees Pan Ping behead Tang You and raise the head. Tang Fang cries out and faints on the spot. ^{ch. 518}

Beside injured Tang Miao Ming he is still called third young master, and she names him Tang tribe’s tribe leader. She says their father and the others have already died, that the tribe nearly fell in the Imperial Court contest, and that he must use Eighty-Eight True Yang Building to rebuild it. He admits he has neglected tribe affairs while worrying over her wounds; she rebukes him as Tribe leader Tang Fang and sets his life’s meaning as revitalizing the tribe. After copying a Ren Zu passage she assigns, he settles on that meaning and looks out over the sacred palace at night. ^{ch. 567}
