Second Aperture Gu recipe

Fang Yuan demands the full recipe before he commits to refining. Ba Gui answers with a single unbroken chant, near ten thousand words long and unfolding across up to a thousand steps. The early stage calls for hundreds of types of materials, the middle stage consumes large numbers of rank four and rank five Gu, and the last step needs a second rank six Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 378}

The chant’s named steps mix green pond rotten soil with eight desolate blood powder as soil for an earth treasury flower Gu, then work in jade bone Gu, ice muscle Gu and yellow gold relic Gu, then stellar fire prairie Gu paired against snowy plain Gu, then yang cloud Gu with elixir fire Gu below yin cloud Gu with golden sand Gu, driving four beast phantoms into the mixture until it fuses into beast strength placenta Gu. For the recipe’s final material, Ba Gui unseals a caged Divine Travel Gu, the same rank six Gu its own creator Verdant Great Sun found too dangerous to keep and eventually refined down into Fixed Immortal Travel Gu instead. ^{ch. 378}

Apertures serve as the recipe’s main ingredient. After killing Tie Mu Bai, Fang Yuan turns beast strength placenta Gu on the corpse to plunder his rank five peak stage aperture, and the theft raises the stated aptitude of the future Second Aperture Gu to forty percent. ^{ch. 379}

Lang Ya land spirit’s divine sense reaches Old Man Yan Shi, calling himself Lang Ya old immortal and offering his own copy of the Second Aperture Gu recipe in trade for Old Man Yan Shi’s Divine Travel Gu. Narration credits the blessed land’s possession of the recipe to Old Man Yan Shi’s own scheme against Lang Ya blessed land. Fang Yuan watches the sale go through and calls it exactly what he expected. ^{ch. 468}

Fang Yuan travels to Lang Ya blessed land, finding it scarred by a recent attack. Confronting the land spirit directly, Fang Yuan says he has known about the recipe since the land spirit first bought Divine Travel Gu, and that this second purchase only confirms an active refinement. He then invokes Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s old promise and asks Lang Ya land spirit to refine Second Aperture Gu for him. ^{ch. 485}

Lang Ya land spirit teleports Fang Yuan into a vast Gu refinement hall and sets thousands of hairy men to work, telling them to use the recipe he had given them. The hall holds green copper cauldrons, red steel furnaces, and rainbow water tanks. As Lang Ya land spirit dissolves Divine Travel Gu into the mixture, Fang Yuan drinks vat after vat of wine, using clear mind Gu and awaken cloud Gu to stay lucid against the mounting drunkenness. The instant the mixture settles into a finished Second Aperture Gu, the suppressed drunkenness in Fang Yuan’s body condenses into a second Divine Travel Gu. ^{ch. 486}

Lang Ya land spirit examines Fang Yuan’s own semi-finished Second Aperture Gu. He calls the final step the hardest part of the whole recipe, and says every step before it is within reach of a master-level refinement path Gu Master. Fang Yuan asks whether a second Second Aperture Gu could produce a third aperture, already certain of the answer from his own knowledge of the recipe, and Lang Ya land spirit confirms it cannot: a third aperture needs its own recipe. ^{ch. 487}
