Beast Strength Placenta Gu is a rank five Gu Fang Yuan refines inside San Cha Mountain's blessed land. It is the recipe step that begins collecting apertures toward Second Aperture Gu.
Inside the San Cha Mountain blessed land hall, Fang Yuan asks land spirit Ba Gui for the full Second Aperture Gu recipe, and Ba Gui answers with that recipe’s full content in a long verse of close to ten thousand words. Refining Second Aperture Gu involves up to a thousand steps. Ba Gui also says large amounts of materials and Gu worms for that refinement are already stored in the hall. ch. 378
Appearance
This Gu is like a disk. Its surface is rough like an embryo made of grass and soil. In the middle of the disk is a ferocious beast with the head of a horse, tusks of an elephant, body of a turtle and the tail of a snake. ch. 378
After Fang Yuan finishes the yin and yang cloud step with beast phantoms, one Gu remains in the air. It is rank five and shaped like a disk with a rough surface like an embryo of grass and soil, and a ferocious beast in the middle with a horse’s head, elephant tusks, a turtle’s body, and a snake’s tail. The Second Aperture Gu recipe already names that product beast strength placenta, and the finished Gu is beast strength placenta Gu. ch. 378
After Tie Mu Bai
When Fang Yuan activates it around a dead Gu Master’s stomach, the shrinking aperture is sucked out, lands in the placenta, and is devoured by the wild beast inside. Absorbing that aperture makes the rough and coarse Gu become lustrous and shiny. The original embryo looked like it was made of soil and had crevices on the surface. After feeding it is thick and tightly packed, like a concrete brick. ch. 379
Better and more numerous absorbed apertures raise the aptitude of the Second Aperture Gu that will be refined later. After Tie Mu Bai’s aperture alone, Fang Yuan judges that aptitude already at forty percent. ch. 379
The blessed land’s original owner designed this Gu to plunder other people’s apertures as a demonic path method tied to that ancient strength path Gu Immortal’s plan. ch. 379
Surface changes with feeding
Absorbed apertures feed the Gu. After receiving nutrients it grows a little again. Its concrete surface has a thin layer of luster, and the surface is smoother, like poorly made porcelain. ch. 380 The Gu has become smooth and clear, like a beautiful porcelain. ch. 382 With aptitude near ninety percent, the Gu shines like a gem. Compared to its previous rough muddy shape, the difference is like night and day. ch. 387
Refinement at San Cha Mountain
Fang Yuan reaches this Gu after five days and five nights of multitasking work with land spirit aid, yin and yang clouds, elixir fire, golden sand, and four beast phantoms that must show their true natures before lightning fuses the mist. Fang Yuan reads the recipe as the work of an ancient strength path Gu Immortal, the original owner of the blessed land. ch. 378
Poisoned aperture loss
Fang Yuan defeats Long Qing Tian but does not kill him. Knowing he cannot survive, Long Qing Tian suicides with jade sky Gu poison. Fang Yuan has spent his last immortal essence portion on that fight and cannot safely take the poisoned aperture, so he judges that the beast strength placenta Gu’s aptitude can only reach eighty-nine percent. ch. 388
After more refinement
After more refinement days past that eighty-nine percent stage, Fang Yuan holds a grey stone-like false Gu shaped like a beetle with a large belly and pointed ends. Ba Gui says he has succeeded in refining this false Gu and needs one more step to turn false into real Second Aperture Gu. ch. 389
After rebirth
After rebirth Fang Yuan again uses beast strength placenta Gu to devour apertures, including Wang Xiao’s and Yun Luo Tian’s, and tracks the Gu’s aptitude climbing again, for example to eighty-three percent after those two. ch. 400
