Chapter 380

It is the eighteenth round of King Quan Inheritance, one of three inheritances and the one most dependent on luck. Ku Mo, a rank five demonic Gu Master, has just won a dog battle. He commands several hundred steel armor dogs, the best defended dogs for the first fifty rounds, and has recruited a jade eye dog king with dog enslavement Gu. The king is a hundred beast king with a wild Gu that works against Yin dogs, which beat him last time. Ku Mo chose this inheritance to avoid Tie Mu Bai, who took King Xin Inheritance, where words can disrupt the hairy men in the early rounds, a shortcut Fang Yuan spread. ^{ch. 380}

That Gu softens the bones of any lifeform within twenty-five kilometres, even essence iron bones, leaving the victim unable to fight and soon dead. The other seven are rank four bone path Gu, not particularly good ones. The set was completely customised for Ku Mo, and Fang Yuan knows little of bone path, so he would display less than half of Ku Mo’s battle strength. Fang Yuan is most skilled in blood path, which he used to start his conquest after benefiting from the blood sea inheritance in his previous life. Fang Yuan keeps the set for now and feeds Ku Mo’s aperture to beast strength placenta Gu, which grows a little and turns smoother. A bone spike pierces Wu Gui’s heart, and he dies with a grievance, eyes wide, trying to see his killer. Fang Yuan keeps Wu Gui’s Gu, pockets the rank four ones, and feeds the aperture to the placenta. Wu Gui had one rank five Gu, pitch black Gu, oval and black with seven white markings. Its black smoke seals any Gu below rank six to varying degrees. Wu Gui’s other eight or nine Gu are rank four and mixed among different paths, not a complete set. Fang Yuan judges that pitch black Gu is mostly why Wu Gui could roam Southern Border and keeps this extremely useful Gu in his aperture. ^{ch. 380}

Fang Yuan’s aperture now holds five rank five Gu and many rank four Gu, and Spring Autumn Cicada, recovering, presses on it. Time flows three times faster in the blessed land, hastening the cicada’s recovery, so he must refine second aperture Gu quickly to relieve the pressure. Near the end the blessed land will be full of flaws and open to the outside, so Gu Masters may attack in a group while the land spirit is powerless. The final step needs divine travel Gu and his full focus, leaving his body in huge danger. Wu Gui’s death is the best lesson, but Fang Yuan’s situation is slightly different. He has another chess piece in Bai Ning Bing, whom the poison vow Gu makes trustworthy, and he expects to need her protection at the end.
