She admits it outright: the blessed land’s spirit has guided her through the King Quan Inheritance so easily it felt like a vacation, a stark contrast to the difficulty she faced exploring it alone before. Yun Luo Tian tries his escape token twice, and both times it fails to work. He threatens to expose her secret to every rank five Gu Master and warns that the whole Yun clan will punish her if she kills him. Bai Ning Bing answers that she does not even fear the Tie clan, let alone his. His dog group is wiped out, and at her will one dog bites through his throat while the rest wait in a circle. He curses her with a dying wish for her own terrible death, and she shakes her head in disdain before collecting his Gu worms. They are rank four cloud path Gu of high quality, along with enslavement Gu he had won inside the inheritance that go on to benefit her own. The land spirit teleports his corpse to Fang Yuan. ch. 382
Fang Yuan has Wang Xiao pinned underfoot, forcing him to reveal the way into Wu mountain. Wang Xiao is a rank five upper stage Gu Master and a true regional emperor. Outside the blessed land, ten Fang Yuans together would not be his match, but here Fang Yuan handles him like a baby, a great humiliation for a man of his standing. Wu mountain sits hidden in deep fog, laced with small paths of which only one truly leads inside. Fang Yuan reasons that its natural defenses, which let Wang Xiao live free of righteous interference no matter their numbers, could serve as his own base and secure his rank five resources. The mountain holds at least three to four spirit springs and enough beasts and wild Gu to sustain three to four middle sized clans, all of it currently Wang Xiao’s alone. Wang Xiao refuses to speak, reasoning that once he tells the path he loses his only leverage to survive. ch. 382
Yun Luo Tian’s corpse arrives, and Fang Yuan kicks Wang Xiao aside to devour its aperture with the beast strength placenta Gu. Wang Xiao recognizes the dead man and understands Fang Yuan is killing people to refine Gu. Watching the Gu that can devour apertures, he grows uneasy that his own aperture is worth far more than Yun Luo Tian’s. He offers to reveal the real path if Fang Yuan swears to his safety on a poison vow Gu. Fang Yuan’s killing intent rises. Though an eating one’s words Gu could break such a vow, he has no time to spare for making one now. ch. 382
Every killing spends the blessed land’s immortal essence, and the land’s own destruction accelerates as the essence drains, something some inside should already be able to feel. The blessed land’s time runs three times faster than the outside world, and the Spring Autumn Cicada poses a huge threat. Fang Yuan has already used nearly two portions of essence, about half his planned total. He knows the longer he drags this out, the more his advantage of initiative erodes, and Wu mountain’s benefits, huge as they are, matter less to him than the second aperture Gu. He breaks Wang Xiao’s right wrist for an answer, then crushes his left kneecap when he still refuses. ch. 382

By that discipline alone, though his aptitude never matched Tie Mu Bai’s or Bai Ning Bing’s, he rose to fame as a demonic expert nobody in southern border dared look down on. Fang Yuan’s previous life remembers him going on to kill many righteous experts at Yi Tian mountain and nearly contending for the demonic faction’s leadership.
