A lake in the land of the dead beside which Verdant Great Sun drinks after death, named when Ren Zu finds him in the Legends of Ren Zu.
At the lakeside, Ren Zu seizes a wine bowl and names the water the bewitching soup that muddles ghosts and strips their desire to leave. Verdant Great Sun answers that the same water is soul calming wine, which calms the soul, removes impurities, and ranks among the world’s best wines. Fairness Gu later calls the place obsession death domain, the world’s most tranquil place. ch. 411
Appearance
Verdant Great Sun, turned into a white ghost, lies beside a lake and scoops the water with a bowl. The water is like wine, and its fragrance pervades the area. The lake sits in a death domain of endless darkness, the deepest part of the Door of Life and Death. ch. 411

Pacifying the soul
Lang Ya land spirit states that soul path cultivation includes strengthening, refining, and pacifying the soul, and that the best way to pacify the soul is the pacifying soul soup in Bewitching Lake. ch. 663 That pacifying soul soup wording is a third name beside the chapter 411 bewitching soup and soul calming wine claims.
Obsession Death Domain water
Fang Yuan states that the best way to pacify the soul is to use Bewitching Lake’s water, found in Obsession Death Domain, recorded in The Legends of Ren Zu and praised by Verdant Great Sun as an excellent wine. He does not have that water, and says that even if he did he would not dare drink it, so he sleeps instead. ch. 672
Soul cultivation ranking
Fang Yuan ranks guts Gu from Dang Hun Mountain as best for strengthening the soul, Luo Po wind and bewilderment fog as best for refining it, and pacifying soul soup in Bewitching Lake as the most effective way to pacify the soul. He states that Bewitching Lake is inside the Door of Life and Death, and that in the legends Verdant Great Sun remained drunk by the riverside after death. He also places that door inside Shadow Sect Blessed Land at Yi Tian Mountain, then engulfed by a giant dream realm, as the reason he cannot gather all three soul cultivation seats. ch. 1092
