Chapter 992

Central Continent has restrained Hui Feng Zi’s body and set him to guard Luo Po Valley, so he moves to stop Fang Yuan from taking it. Seeing Feng Jiu Ge’s face, he shakes and cries out the name in fear. Fang Yuan had already taken Feng Jiu Ge’s appearance, expecting Central Continent to leave a guard behind. Badly injured after the hundred days battle, Feng Jiu Ge had fled without a word to Fang Yuan, intent only on escaping despite owing him a debt of gratitude. ^{ch. 992}

Hui Feng Zi investigates, confirms the identity, and greets him as Lord Feng Jiu Ge, flying forward to pay his respects. Fang Yuan orders him to guard and not interrupt. Watching him go, Hui Feng Zi takes Feng Jiu Ge’s escape as confirmation that the already badly injured Qin Bai Sheng has died. He sends the other nine ancient sects word that Feng Jiu Ge has taken Luo Po Valley. Prince Feng Xian receives the message and rejoices. ^{ch. 992}

Meanwhile, once clear of Hui Feng Zi, Fang Yuan meets Tai Bai Yun Sheng and the featherman Gu Immortal Zhou Zhong, both stationed nearby as backup. He has also kept Hei Lou Lan and Fairy Li Shan ready as reinforcements. Hei Lou Lan’s tie to Blazing Heaven Demoness means even a rank eight Gu Immortal could be handled. ^{ch. 992}

Fang Yuan judges the outcome the best he could hope for, since he alone now holds Luo Po Valley. Without Hei Cheng’s soul, Hei Lou Lan cannot find the valley, and he tells neither her nor Fairy Li Shan. He fears Blazing Heaven Demoness would otherwise demand its use. He means to trade the valley only once his soul grows stronger, and stores it in Star Form blessed land rather than Hu Immortal blessed land, since Hei Lou Lan visits there often. From the true inheritance, Fang Yuan gains ghostly concealment, finds dao marks layered over his soul, and does not know what ghostly concealment does. He asks Lang Ya land spirit about Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable. Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable made only ten true inheritances, each an unparalleled treasure granting immense potential to any otherworldly demon who claims one. Legend holds that Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable paired two defensive moves, ghostly concealment and divine concealment, which hides its user from any deduction of thought, will or emotion. Obtaining one yields clues to the other. Fang Yuan confirms he has a clue. Deeply moved, the land spirit offers to make him second supreme elder with at least two rank seven Immortal Gu if he obtains divine concealment for the sect. Fang Yuan answers that divine concealment is itself a Thieving Heaven true inheritance worth far more than that reward. The land spirit agrees, sweetens the offer with Immortal Gu recipes, killer moves and inheritance clues, and Fang Yuan calls it enough and leaves by Fixed Immortal Travel. ^{ch. 992}

As a transmigrator whose body belongs to this world but whose soul comes from outside it, he counts himself an otherworldly demon, qualified for Thieving Heaven’s true inheritances. Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable’s own words show he was an otherworldly demon too. That status explains why his clues, including those for open door Gu and close door Gu, were scattered so freely.
