Cloud soil

Cloud soil can be stepped on like real land. Its soil is very fertile, far surpassing ordinary mortal-world soil. ^{ch. 460} In treasure yellow heaven, soils such as cloud soil are sold as rare goods exchanged between blessed lands. ^{ch. 469}

Star fragment grass grows on clouds in the sky, so high quality cloud soil is a practical medium for planting it. ^{ch. 467} Fairy Yao Guang suggests buying cloud soil for that purpose; Fang Yuan later notes that planting the grass on dark clouds in Hu Immortal blessed land avoids bulk cloud soil purchases. ^{ch. 474} Star Form blessed land’s star fragment grass is meant to grow in cloud soil; Star Lord Wan Xiang plants it in black soil only because he cannot afford bulk cloud soil, though that blessed land’s environment still favors the grass. ^{ch. 902}

After an attack on Lang Ya blessed land, pure white cloud soil outside the twelve cloud buildings shows blood traces and battle scars, including a dead mountain-sized deer-like desolate beast lying on the soil. ^{ch. 485}

Lang Ya blessed land sits on vast white cloud soil, with twelve cloud buildings spaced across it. A later visit finds the fertile cloud soil full of holes, some iced and some rising with black smoke, and desolate beasts can drill up through it or stab crab legs into it for footing. ^{ch. 661}

Tai Bai Yun Sheng restores all of Lang Ya’s damaged cloud soil and earns three immortal essence stones under the deal with Lang Ya land spirit, though he later redirects that pay toward Fang Yuan. ^{ch. 664} He reports the cloud soil repair as the first of several landscape jobs that fund later purchases such as float ball tea seeds. ^{ch. 672}

When a cloud building rises, it exposes a cave made of cloud soil underneath. Misty cloud fog covers the opening, and a desolate beast such as the ice spike divine ape can step into that cloud-soil cave to hibernate before the building reseals it. ^{ch. 708}

Star fragment grass is said to require planting on cloud soil, yet some stands grow well even on black muddy ground when the local environment favors them. ^{ch. 728} After a mountain pledge agreement, more than ten coffins emerge from the cloud soil at Lang Ya land spirit’s call. ^{ch. 744}

Cloud Cover Continent’s ground is made from cloud soil. It is white and slightly soft, unlike ordinary muddy ground. ^{ch. 1080} Lang Ya land spirit designs that continent from cloud soil so it can float in the air without landing. The cloud soil is not tough: Fang Yuan’s myriad self giant hand, with rank seven attacking power, shatters surrounding cloud soil so fragments fall toward the sea below. ^{ch. 1571}

At cloud bamboo mountain range, Fang Yuan takes a huge quantity of rank seven cloud soil and is happiest about that haul, alongside eleven desolate plants of three species: cloud qi root, white hair root, and spear tip bamboo. Those plants are covered on cloud qi root, white hair root, and spear tip bamboo. ^{ch. 1591}

When Myriad Destruction Lightning Forest breaks Cloud Bamboo Mountain apart, the seven colored cloud soil inside the mountain is scattered and loses value after the lightning damage. ^{ch. 2038}

Cloud soil looks like a cloud but is a kind of soil. Its greatest production area is in the immemorial nine heavens, with a smaller number of resource points in the five regions. A single colored cloud soil is at most an ordinary Gu material: yellow cloud soil from immemorial yellow heaven and red cloud soil from immemorial red heaven are examples, and white cloud soil is the most common single colored form on the market, mostly from immemorial white heaven. Immemorial black heaven also holds much black cloud soil, though soul beasts make gathering it risky. Once cloud soil has six colors, it is a rank six immortal material. Seven colored cloud soil is a rank seven immortal material, and a large quantity of it is highly valuable. ^{ch. 1683}

In immemorial white heaven Fang Yuan finds a seven-colored cloud left floating alone after a flock of blinking birds flees. He recognizes it as seven-colored cloud soil: a large patch whose value as rank seven immortal material is high for that quantity. The soil holds many bird nests with blinking bird eggs. Lang Ya land spirit had already shown the same substance can be condensed in bulk to form floating Cloud Cover Continent. ^{ch. 1683}

After Qi Sea grotto-heaven is annexed, Mini White Heaven and the other eight mini heavens fill with clouds of their own colors. Those clouds are still thin fog and have not yet grown into cloud soil of their respective colors, but Fang Yuan treats that growth as the start of further aperture change. ^{ch. 1816}
