Surrender
The attack on Yan tribe camp has lasted four hours, and because of the ambush and the lack of a leader the camp lies ruined. The remaining Yan forces hold the center, but the wolf group keeps surging and the defense line is on the verge of collapse. A thousand wolf king breaks through and starts slaughtering the old, feeble, women and children. A seriously injured Gu Master with one hand and one leg throws himself at it and self-destructs, and the thousand beast king dies with him. Yan tribe is extremely united. The wolves that died truly exceed Fang Yuan’s estimate. ch. 474
He feels no pain, though, and judges that the defeated usually have no hope of reprieve in the struggle for Imperial Court. He orders the Ge tribe to demand surrender. Ge tribe’s Gu Masters feel a chill, but relax on seeing him, the great tree their tribe leans on. ch. 474
The wolf group opens a path and a Ge tribe elder tells the Yan tribesmen to surrender. Some roar that they would rather die, but others hesitate. The elder warns that their wives and children behind them will die cruelly because of their stubborn resistance. The remnant forces fall quiet, and the Yan tribe elder, feeling extreme hatred for Ge tribe’s psychological tactics, still sighs and surrenders. Ge tribe rejoices that it has annexed Yan tribe. ch. 474
Ge Guang is overjoyed that his weaker tribe swallowed so large a force. He expects Ge tribe’s strength to triple once the war spoils are digested, passing what it had at Hong Yan valley, and credits Chang Shan Yin. He hesitated only for an instant over Fang Yuan’s letter, and he fears refusing would have meant the fate of Yan tribe. The hiding Yan tribesmen are arrested, and Yan tribe’s Gu Masters are bound as captives, their Gu worms seized and primeval essence locked. Before the heroes assembly Fang Yuan plans to return to Hu Immortal blessed land. He also plans one visit to Lang Ya blessed land, if his luck is good. ch. 474
Three days later he leads the wolf group to a remote area, contacts Little Hu Immortal with moving perspective cup Gu, and returns to the blessed land with stargate Gu. Thousands of injured or old wolves enter with him, and instead of sacrificing them as cannon fodder he breeds them in the western part. Wild beasts reproduce very strongly and time flows six times faster in the blessed land than on northern plains, so his troops will replenish themselves. The north is almost completely cut off, the east holds dark clouds and tens of lakes, and the south is the stonemen’s homeland. Struck by gruel mud Gu, Dang Hun mountain in the center is gradually dying. ch. 474
