Chapter 725

Trapped in Seven Star Child’s dream, Fang Yuan feels an unwanted joy rising in him, a sign of infection. As an immortal zombie he feels no pain, and only the pain kept in his true solid bat wings freed him from Star Constellation Immortal Venerable’s dream. Noticing he can still clench his fists, Fang Yuan takes hope. Seven Star Child, far weaker than the Venerable, has not taken all of Fang Yuan’s movement. ^{ch. 725}

Raising his arm costs him great effort. He forces his fingers open and conjures a lump of icy starlight. The same infectious joy rushes back as his mobility keeps slipping, down to only his fingers. A hidden dream realm resists ordinary attack, but this one has surfaced and can be struck from outside. Destroying it wastes a dream this valuable, but Fang Yuan has no other way to live. ^{ch. 725}

Straining hard, he sends the icy drill stardust into Seven Star Child’s back. The boastful laughter cuts off mid word as the image shatters like a mirror, and Fang Yuan feels the pressure lift and flees. Fang Yuan cannot explain it, since his stardust was never strong enough to do more than shatter an image that should recover quickly. A growl answers from within the star hall. High on the hidden throne, an immortal zombie shaped like a mortal rises and glares at Wan Xiang, Hei Lou Lan, and Fang Yuan: Seven Star Child never died, only transformed, which is why no heavenly spirit appeared. Seven Star Child’s immortal zombie attacks Wan Xiang first, stomping a hole through the star hall and nearly caving in his chest, sending him crashing into the forest below. Seven Star Child’s zombie then turns on Hei Lou Lan. She has just been jolted awake by the stardust’s pain and cold. He fires his own killer move, star billow pillar, a silent beam that shatters her hasty defense at once. She dodges the straight line again and again, never caught for more than three breaths, until the pillar vanishes dozens of breaths later and she escapes toward the forest. ^{ch. 725}

Reaching Fang Yuan, she still cannot believe she survived. Her own defenses could not have held four breaths in that pillar, and her retreat had danced on the edge of death. Fang Yuan grabs her arm and runs deeper into the forest, explaining that a long stretch in the dream realm has left Seven Star Child’s immortal zombie slow witted. ^{ch. 725}

Still confused, Hei Lou Lan asks what a dream realm even is. Then she spots the stardust marks on her body and accuses Fang Yuan of attacking her. He answers that he was saving her: without it she could not have escaped the Venerable’s dream in time, and Seven Star Child’s killer move would have killed her a moment later. Suspicious by nature, she trusts not his word but the Snowy Mountain Alliance oath between them, which forbids harming an ally and would already have killed him had the stardust been an attack. ^{ch. 725}

Freeing her arm, Hei Lou Lan says she will remember the debt and promises compensation, still asking how this connects to The Legends of Ren Zu and why they run instead of using Fixed Immortal Travel. Fang Yuan tells her to be quiet. He keeps running, slower now with his bat wings spent. Seven Star Child’s zombie roars that intruders deserve death, his attention now on the massive rolling rock battlefield overhead, which draws his hostility by its size.
