Turtle Jade Wolf Skin Gu

Like Bronze Skin Gu and Iron Bone Gu, Turtle Jade Wolf Skin Gu must be consumed and leaves imprints on the Gu Master’s body. After seclusion, Fang Yuan’s body is refined to turtle jade wolf skin. His skin keeps a natural flesh color until an attack lands, then turns jadish-green with faint turtle-shell lines, hard like iron or jade while still flexible. The defense activates on attack without active use and without spending primeval essence. ^{ch. 500}

That refined skin can hold about a hundred jun of strength. It helps bear strength but does not benefit enslavement path; for that, Fang Yuan notes a different rank five Gu, Wolf Totem Gu. ^{ch. 500} In later fights the turtle-shell skin pattern shows when sword shadows strike him, ^{ch. 504} and the modification lets his body bear still more strength as he breaks the hundred-jun barrier. ^{ch. 517} He later states that turtle jade wolf skin plus Impermanence Bone Gu bones is still not enough to sustain five hundred jun, ^{ch. 536} and that at one later point he still has only a hundred jun with that skin and those bones. ^{ch. 627}
