Regional Walls

Each of the five regions is covered with a membrane that forms the boundaries of heaven and earth and isolates the regions from each other. Feng Jiu Ge’s group cuts a passage through Central Continent’s saint regional wall into Northern Plains’ licorice regional wall; the walls heal as travellers cut, and higher cultivation makes the crossing harder. ^{ch. 710}

There are regional walls between the five regions, and the higher one’s cultivation, the more difficult it is to cross these barriers. Fixed Immortal Travel can ignore the regional walls. ^{ch. 673}

Feng Jiu Ge breaks through the regional wall into Northern Plains and sends a letter Gu home. Fairy Bai Qing asks how he could cross the regional wall without using an information path Immortal Gu, and why Feng Jin Huang is anxious to reply when she cannot read that Immortal Gu alone. ^{ch. 730}

Between the five regions, regional walls are like thin membrane which shields the region. Blue water regional wall is the protective membrane of Eastern Sea. Hei Lou Lan warns that Fang Yuan’s upper extreme heavenly eagle can roam the nine heavens and may travel in the five regional walls freely. Ying Wu Xie answers from Northern Plains records that Hei Fan’s upper extreme heavenly eagle was raised in Northern Plains, so if it enters the five regional walls it would face suppression as well. ^{ch. 1153}

Bu Zhen Zi says it is said that the heavenly wind qi wall is thicker than the five regional walls, and that seeing the heavenly wind qi wall himself makes the claim seem true. ^{ch. 1239} Related barrier material sits on heavenly wind qi wall.

Northern Plains is bounded by the licorice regional wall and Eastern Sea by the blue water regional wall. Regional walls press harder on stronger life forms, so a rank eight crossing is innumerable times as hard as a rank six one. ^{ch. 928}

A later return into the Southern Border crosses licorice, blue water, and Southern Border’s miasma regional wall in sequence. ^{ch. 1211}

Inside a wall, immortal killer moves are weakened and a traveller can be ambushed; Gu Immortals there display only about fifty to sixty percent of their strength. ^{ch. 1216}
