Fate Armor is a rank eight Immortal Gu that forms a thin layer of armor made of light. Heavenly Court gives it to Feng Jiu Ge.
In the River of Time, a female immortal’s voice tells Feng Jiu Ge to use that rank eight Immortal Gu. He hesitates over Fate Armor. Heavenly Court gave him this defensive rank eight Immortal Gu to protect his life. He had tried to activate it: it is very powerful and expends a huge amount of immortal essence, more than he can last fifty breaths. At the crucial moment he activates it. Red date immortal essence is rapidly expended, and a thin layer of armor made of light appears on his body. The immemorial year beast’s attacks do not faze that armor. The water of the River of Time presses on him and only small cracks appear. The River of Time is a secluded domain of heaven and earth with dao mark accumulation on par with rank nine Immortal Gu. Fairy Zi Wei was the voice. The Gu’s true use was also to give Lord Huang Shi an accurate clue to find Feng Jiu Ge’s location. ch. 1404

Fang Yuan sees the thin light armor save Feng Jiu Ge from an immemorial yama soul explosion. Feng Jiu Ge names rank eight Immortal Gu Fate Armor and states its effect: defense whose power varies, following only the results dictated by fate. If he is not meant to die now, it can protect him from any killer move in this world. If he is fated to die already, Fate Armor’s protection is as weak as paper. He links that to fate Immortal Gu. If fate Immortal Gu were destroyed, Fate Armor’s power would be reduced to ordinary rank eight defense. With Fate injured and not fully destroyed, fate still binds the world and this Gu can unleash defenses beyond rank eight. Once it is activated, Heavenly Court can sense it, as Lord Huang Shi did in the River of Time, and Fairy Zi Wei uses it as a receptor to deduce yama battlefield faster. ch. 1579
