Huang Shi

He flies with Feng Jiu Ge to a nearby tributary and offers an immortal killer move to send Feng Jiu Ge out. Fog then reveals a stone lotus island he recognizes as tied to Red Lotus’ true inheritance. He rushes toward it in excitement, but the fog retreats and lengthens the distance until the island vanishes. He returns dejected while Fairy Zi Wei watches from Heavenly Court. ^{ch. 1406}

Waiting outside a dream realm defensive line, Feng Jiu Ge and two Heavenly Court rank eight Gu Immortals name him the person most skilled at fighting in the River of Time in the last ten thousand years and judge that Fang Yuan is not his match. Fairy Zi Wei’s guidance places Fang Yuan directly ahead of him, and he flies into a sudden spring river segment without hesitating. ^{ch. 1431}

A sudden spring carrying the power of a rank eight killer move misses him after light shines from his head and restores him to normal condition, and he judges that a rank nine sudden spring would gravely injure him or kill him. He reasons from luck path profundities that pursuing Fang Yuan will make his own journey unsmooth, and he wonders whether Fang Yuan crossed the segment on reverse flow protection seal, which would have greatly expended the immortal essence Fang Yuan needs for their later fight; he does not guess at an enslaved immemorial year monkey, because Hei Fan never exposed the flaw of years flow like water Immortal Gu and Heavenly Court could not deduce it. Past that segment stands a dark web spider’s crystal nest, whose peaceful time threads freeze any rank seven or lower existence and would put even him in grave danger in the hundreds. He refuses to detour, an explosion he reads as one of Fang Yuan’s traps alerts the spider, and he breaks free of its territory covered in dust and minorly injured. He then slows at a segment permeated with sword qi and blade light, places it in the Late Antiquity Era and attributes it to the fight between Xi Yuan and Dao Jiu Lang, and enters because Fang Yuan’s group did, after which Fairy Zi Wei’s guidance brings him within sight of the immemorial year monkey with Bai Ning Bing and the rest defending on it. ^{ch. 1432}

Seeing the Shadow Sect immortals trapped in the blade river segment, he pounces, and his immortal killer move sun moon divine shuttle heavily suppresses them. The immemorial year monkey answers, and because he is neither a strength path nor a transformation path Gu Immortal he retreats to a place of dense time path dao marks rather than meet it closely. There he raises a yellow soil rock above his head that slows the time around him, and the dust it sheds slows the monkey further. Ying Wu Xie cannot lock onto him with lead soul into dream: a defensive killer move Fairy Zi Wei gave him for exactly that purpose hides him from soul path senses. River waves strike him again and again and never the monkey, which he suspects is Fang Yuan’s luck path at work and then dismisses, holding that luck path is suppressed in the river and that only supreme time path methods could steer the water. Fang Yuan is already on the stone lotus island beneath the river, feeding his own will into Spectral Soul’s will so that Red Lotus’ true inheritance manipulates the segment, and the immortals he is suppressing are bait placed as their sect leader predicted. ^{ch. 1433}

A wave that parts around the monkey and closes on him alone tells him the trapped monkey was itself the trap, which he takes as a humiliation, and he concludes that only a method like Red Lotus Demon Venerable’s could control a segment of the River of Time. He erupts with his full strength, activating at least four immortal killer moves in an instant, blocking the wave and sending ripples of time at Bai Ning Bing and the rest. Spectral Soul’s will then triggers Dao Jiu Lang’s nine-nine reincarnation blades out of the wave, nine layers striking eighty-one times in total, which destroys the rock around him and leaves large wounds across his chest and back filled with blade path dao marks that keep emitting blade qi into his organs. Xi Yuan’s sword burial abyss follows, locking him in place with his methods spent and his defenses near zero. Warned that killing him will use up the stone lotus island’s remaining foundation, Fang Yuan orders it done without hesitating, and Lord Huang Shi, a rank eight time path Heavenly Court Gu Immortal, dies calling his own sacrifice unimportant beside having let Heavenly Court’s plan fail. ^{ch. 1434}

Bai Ning Bing and the rest bring his corpse to Fang Yuan, and Spectral Soul’s will calls him an amazing character, a genius when young and a famous expert grown, whose name had spread through Central Continent and the five regions. The stone lotus island begins to crumble, its foundation exhausted in killing him. Fang Yuan judges the trade a gain: Huang Shi has outstanding battle strength and is like a fish in water inside the River of Time, so a later ambush would probably not have caught him again. ^{ch. 1435}

Heavenly Court’s plan had him destroy Red Lotus’ true inheritance inside the River of Time and force Fang Yuan out to Feng Jiu Ge and two waiting rank eights, so their strongest member falling first leaves the three of them awkwardly placed and their morale struck before any fighting. Feng Jiu Ge’s party judges that without the stone lotus island Fang Yuan could not have taken his life even with rank eight level strength and the monkey’s protection. Fairy Zi Wei calls him sacrificed and states that his death bought valuable information on Fang Yuan, the Shadow Sect members, and Red Lotus’ true inheritance, leaving Heavenly Court no longer wholly in the dark about it. ^{ch. 1436} Fang Yuan later counts him as the Heavenly Court rank eight time path Gu Immortal he had barely been able to kill, and only after spending the strength of a stone lotus island. ^{ch. 1448}
