Wild Gu Come
Fang Yuan enters the River of Time in his physical body for the first time. Legend calls it a secluded domain running through past, present and future. Entering bodily normally demands a deep time path foundation, which he lacks; transformation path with Purple Mountain True Monarch’s and Hei Fan’s inheritances carries him instead. The river itself is huge and wide, as vast as the sea, and flows unceasingly through darkness. He releases the immemorial year monkey, which returns happily to the water, while he takes ancient year beast transformation into an ancient year monkey and floats in the air above the river. The monkey obeys him more readily than the upper extreme heavenly eagle once did. ch. 1431
His soul foundation has fallen greatly, so even with hundred and eighty slaves he finds the monkey hard to control. He worries he may lose command if a serious battle breaks out. Previously he sent his will into the river through Spring Autumn Cicada, gaining only a partial view. Beyond the treacherous river itself, his obstacle is Heavenly Court’s pursuit and ambush. ch. 1431
Wild year Gu and wild time path Gu worms drift through the river. Rank eight attitude Gu and familiar face make wild Gu mistake Fang Yuan for an ordinary ancient year monkey, so several land on him for safety. Within minutes he gathers several hundred wild mortal Gu, mostly day Gu and month Gu with none of the year kind. Month beasts and day beasts likewise feed on month Gu and day Gu. The immemorial year monkey, whose own wild mortal Gu were destroyed fighting Fang Yuan earlier, draws far more of them here, though the flow slows once crowding sets in. Fang Yuan leaves the wild Gu alone, since refining them would ruin his disguise and they are not Immortal Gu worth the trouble. ch. 1431
An ancient year tiger flees on sight of the immemorial year monkey, as other creatures have throughout the journey. After two hours in the unchanging dark river, Fang Yuan trusts the feeling from Purple Mountain True Monarch’s inheritance to lead him to the Red Lotus true inheritance that Spectral Soul Demon Venerable obtained. Suddenly a current shoots out of the river ahead of him: a sudden spring. Such springs can carve a vast number of time path dao marks into anyone struck, who might suffer heavy injuries, die or even lose lifespan. ch. 1431
Fang Yuan shields behind the immemorial year monkey’s tough body, since he has no other way to resist it. The spring leaves the monkey covered in injuries, and other paths’ healing methods are restricted here. His only time path option, Man as Before Immortal Gu, works solely on human bodies. The monkey must recover on its own. Fang Yuan hesitates over whether to stop and let it heal fully. Three more hurdles lie ahead toward Red Lotus’ true inheritance: the dark web spiders, the one finger flow sharks and a special blade river segment, each more dangerous than the sudden springs. ch. 1431
At the Western Desert tributary, the rank seven Feng Jiu Ge arrives with two rank eight Gu Immortals that Fairy Zi Wei has sent to hunt Fang Yuan. He tells them of Fang Yuan’s sharp rise, and they agree they can kill him together: his strength barely copes with one rank eight and faces extreme difficulty against two. Fairy Zi Wei has modified Feng Jiu Ge’s chaotic heart drumming sound again. The modified move is their trump card against Fang Yuan. They find their path blocked by Fang Yuan’s shifting dream realm defense line and decide to wait for a gap. They trust that Lord Huang Shi, the best River of Time fighter in ten thousand years, is already inside and that Fang Yuan is no match. Acting on Fairy Zi Wei’s word that Fang Yuan is right ahead, Lord Huang Shi flies resolutely toward the sudden spring river segment. ch. 1431
