Yama Battlefield

Outside cloud city, Fang Yuan activates the immortal battlefield killer move after emperor yama and soul explosion. Intense wind blows and the world changes colors. A huge surrounding area is enveloped. Inside, the surroundings are pale green and yellow, vision is blur like fog, and dark winds wail. He lets out yama children, who cackle and fly freely. He stores them, stops the move, and returns to Lang Ya blessed land. ^{ch. 1572}

He treats yama battlefield as the greatest achievement of that secluded cultivation. He created it from battlefield killer moves recorded in Spectral Soul Demon Venerable’s true inheritance, after considering his own situation. It is inferior to purple star broken life in concealment and isolating from the outside world. During activation he cannot move as well, though the move can be used in battle. Once enemies are enveloped, he judges he can force rank six or rank seven to stay and lose their lives. With the battlefield he plans to trap enemies and keep using great thief ghost hand to steal Immortal Gu, with little chance of escape. ^{ch. 1572}

When Heavenly Court invades Lang Ya blessed land, Fang Yuan flies close to Fairy Zi Wei and activates yama battlefield. Soul path dao marks from the earlier soul explosion let it form in a breath of time, faster than most immortal battlefield killer moves, but that interval is enough for Fairy Zi Wei to retreat. Feng Jiu Ge is caught inside. Fang Yuan’s position had been set to trap both if she had not withdrawn. The battlefield isolates inside from outside. From outside it is just a tiny spot, the point of entry, hard to find unless Fang Yuan uses the move in front of the observer. Fairy Zi Wei’s deductions have huge problems because yama battlefield contains soul path profundity and ghostly concealment, and is one with emperor yama. She also reads theft path mixed in. ^{ch. 1576}

Inside, Fang Yuan in emperor yama form flies with ease. Yama children are amplified, quicker, and greater in force. Feng Jiu Ge’s yang pass tune is greatly restricted, with limited range, and will not break out of the battlefield. Heaven and earth song has little effect. Separation song can break immortal formations, but the Immortal Gu sustaining this battlefield are inside Fang Yuan’s sovereign immortal aperture, so separation song cannot affect that interior and is useless. Submission song, a method against enslavement path, only affects the yama children’s movement and has no enslavement effect on them. ^{ch. 1577}

Even with time path methods and rank eight time path Immortal Gu Years Flow Like Water, Fang Yuan cannot fuse time path into yama battlefield. The move is not used on sovereign immortal body and has conflicting dao marks: theft path and soul path are already at their limit, and adding time path is too difficult. Time path battlefield killer moves can alter the rate of time against the outside world; yama battlefield cannot. Killer moves that are not theft path or soul path are resisted by the battlefield’s dao marks. Feng Jiu Ge trusts there is no time path aura, so the rate of time should not be a problem, and waits for Fairy Zi Wei to break the battlefield from outside. ^{ch. 1577}

The entire yama battlefield starts to shake and emit a sharp noise as Fairy Zi Wei’s deduction takes effect. Fang Yuan judges it cannot last thirty breaths of time. ^{ch. 1578}

A purple galaxy appears in yama battlefield, expands, and shows the outside Lang Ya blessed land. Fang Yuan bleeds from nose and mouth as the battlefield collapses and he faces backlash. Fate armor Immortal Gu, once activated, lets Heavenly Court sense Feng Jiu Ge and acts as a receptor that speeds Fairy Zi Wei’s deduction so she can open a pathway sooner. Purple galaxies tear the sky. The battlefield breaks apart entirely. Fang Yuan spits blood, a large number of mortal Gu die in his immortal aperture, and the Immortal Gu used are injured to some extent. He had hoped to conceal traces with the battlefield and kill a strong enemy; he kills no one, and emperor yama and great thief ghost hand are exposed. ^{ch. 1579}

Against Yang San Mu, Fang Yuan activates yama battlefield as soon as the man intends to retreat. Yang San Mu’s vision changes and he is trapped with no way of escaping, shocked that an immortal battlefield can form so rapidly. ^{ch. 1587}

Fang Yuan traps Chi Qu You in yama battlefield. Heavenly Court has already released their understanding of the move and the way to break it in treasure yellow heaven, so Chi Qu You is not anxious: as a formation path great grandmaster he can defend himself inside, while Fang Yuan has limited time before righteous path encirclement. ^{ch. 1593}

Among Fang Yuan’s immortal battlefields, the strongest are purple star broken life and yama battlefield. Both are rank seven and cannot trap rank eight Gu Immortals such as Xia Cha and Lu Wei Yin. Southern Border immortals treat the public treasure yellow heaven video of Central Continent breaking yama battlefield as reason he would not still use it. ^{ch. 1601}

Fang Yuan states that yama battlefield is a battlefield encompassing soul path and enslavement path. Enslavement path specializes in attrition: countless yama children that do not fear death can self-detonate before dying and drain the enemy. Soul path’s advantage is to gain strength from killing, so that in a normal soul path battlefield killing one enemy increases the battlefield’s power. His yama battlefield has both traits, but the latter is weaker: conversion of yama children is not fast, and he often fights powerful enemies, which makes that advantage unlikely to be useful. He tasks himself with modifying yama battlefield by adding time path Immortal Gu so it can display a time path battlefield’s advantage, extending time inside so that one day outside could be a month inside. In the previous life, trapping Feng Jiu Ge and stealing Fixed Immortal Travel still failed to kill him because fate armor stalled until Fairy Zi Wei broke the battlefield; with time path he judges he could extend the interior to three days and nights, and she would still break it but receive a corpse. ^{ch. 1755}

He uses yama battlefield to trap a diamond head turtle after yama children pester it. Once formed, the battlefield is hard to detect in the outside world. Most rank seven Gu Immortals would be unable to escape inside, let alone that ancient desolate beast. After capturing the turtle and its wild Immortal Gu, he dispels the move. ^{ch. 1755}

In this life Fang Yuan activates yama battlefield on Chi Qu You at Wind Flame Mountain. A huge yellow-brown lump envelops both, then shrinks rapidly into a tiny spot like an immortal aperture placed outside, vanishing without a trace. Chi Qu You praises it as a soul path battlefield. Unlike the previous life, the move has not been exposed: after Lang Ya, Fairy Zi Wei had published its profundities and the method to break it, raising the risk of use, but in this life Fang Yuan’s targets were Meng Tu, Sleeping Lady, and the diamond head turtle, and against Feng Jiu Ge he used super formation space instead, so the method stayed secret until this activation. He is not going to kill Chi Qu You, so information about yama battlefield will spread. ^{ch. 1772}

Yama web battlefield is a later, distinct killer move modified from yama battlefield. That successor combines the power of time path into the battlefield and is stronger and more stable. ^{ch. 1814}
